Looks cool, but a bit wierd too. In the first impression I wouldn't say he is coming out of the water. Underwater looks unrelated to the top so much I couldn't understand it. I tought surface of the water was a cloth or something. Maybe a bit of reflection from character would be good.

Yes you do. Shadow does not erase reflection. But maybe here would be a bit of that blue light. To show the source of that one one character and to connect it with the underwater colors.
