So, in experimenting with the iPhone as a camera, I find that .jpgs... Files that I never had issue with before photography, suck big fat monkey b*lls for a decent BW conversion. I applied about a third of my normal processing and the thing is falling apart. 256 values per channel simply isn't good enough. I can't wait until my new camera arrives.
In the mean-time. I'm going to process like I would normally, and to hell with the posterization/noise resulting. At least you'll get an idea

Should be doable, This was shot about 300 meters from my front door, and early fog is fairly common here. Check back in about two weeks

Nah, I think I might leave it for demonstration purposes XD Maybe I'll do a comparison shot and stitch the two together. Could be fun. On the plus side, I no longer have to justify the purchase of the new Nikon to the wife. She saw my frustration trying to process this. Her reaction was "K, now I get it."
