Description "Sonic Underground" might've been a heavily flawed show, but it still had plenty of credible merits. Sleet being one of them.

Sleet is a ruthless gangster often hired by Robotnik to capture the Freedom Fighters. Sleet is a manipulative and surprisingly competent villain; but he constantly fails at his missions (due to his idiotic coworker Dingo) and only rarely succeeds. He does, however, appear to get away from being roboticized no matter how angry he makes Robotnik.

What can I say for this character? He's sneaky, cunning, crafty, and he's voiced by Maurice LaMarche! That makes him automatically awesome. It's a shame that we won't be seeing him again anytime soon. Once again... another Sonic character bites the dust.

Sleet sounds in Sonic Underground like The Brain in Pinky and the Brain!

No kidding. They're both voiced by the same actor, Maurice LaMarche.

sonic games now just want to be pretentious, and the downhill slope began after sonic unleashed and during co-lours.

Naw. The most pretentious games were SHtH or Sonic '06, due to them trying to make their stories seem more serious when they were actually laughably corny.

The problem with the newer games is that they lack substance; not having the characters go through anything emotional or dramatic and only resort to jokes. "Lost World" was a step in the right direction in terms of story, but the narrative was badly executed.

I do have a backstory planned out concerning Sleet's love-life and son here (logiteeka.deviantart.com/art/C… if you're interested. Long story short: it doesn't end well.

But knowing how much of a slimeball he is, I wouldn't be surprised if Sleet married multiple times.

Oh. But my Sonic Underground FC is a bounty hunter like him. When she first met him, it took place in my version of Friend Or Foe?? She doesn't play by the rules just like him. Even though she is sharp like a knife, sneaky as a robber, and hard as a rock, she has his personality. She knows that if he wants a family with her, he has to straighten up or she will leave him, just like that.

Dingo's a bit more complicated to redesign, mostly due to his muscularity. I have an idea for the face, but the rest of it still needs work.

I absolutely hate it when great characters get replaced by ANNOYANCES like that never shutting the hell up Omachao.

Who did Omachao replace exactly? The only other character that gave out hints prior was Tikal in spirit form. And since she's currently in another place with Chaos, it makes sense for that role to be replaced.

I am just saying why characters like sleet, ray, armildo, Antoine, Sally, Dingo, that long nosed minion from sonic sat:AM have been left over and swept away by some boring and bland characters. (Do like the new sonic but some of them feel pointless and nowhere near as good as characters like these.) I wish sonic would do more good and subtle messaging cartons or dark and serious. I might plan one when I am older with these old and new characters so Robotnik would not APPEAR in every episode. Plus more action and deeper storylines into the characters.

LogiTeeka In reply to ashbasher22 [2013-08-18 23:53:33 +0000 UTC]

I don't think all the newer characters are bland. Heck, I find most of them more interesting than Sonic himself nowadays. Characters like Shadow, Rouge, Blaze, and Silver have more backstory and personality than Sonic and the gang ever will in the games.

I don't mind dark elements in the Sonic series as long as they're implemented well. Since the general series is targeted towards family audiences, a good blend between dark and light-heartedness is needed to satisfy both kids and adults. The best examples of darker-yet-fun portrayals are the "Sonic Adventure" series, television shows like SatAM and "Underground", the Sonic OVA movie, and both the Fleetway and [current] Archie comics. They have the right amount of humor and goofiness as well as drama, action, and development to appeal to a wider audience.

If the series is too lighthearted, you get AoStH or "Sonic X". These shows suffered badly because there was hardly anything to care about. The settings were bizarre, the characters were either bland and/or annoying, and the stories were nearly nonexistent. These shows were nearly impossible to connect with and immerse yourself in the series.

If it's too dark, you get "Shadow the Hedgehog" or "Sonic 06". These games took themselves too seriously and tried making the series too hardcore for their own good. They added swearing and guns just to appeal to older players and eliminated any fun moments to try and make the game more serious in tone. As a result, the games were bland, corny, rushed, and too convoluted for anyone to fallow.

True and you needed excitement and I think the. We and old should get crossed I might make a sonic cartoon when all characters should have Big personalities before they go on air.

I already have an idea for a reboot of the franchise. You can view it here if you like:Β link

It's mostly a revamped retelling of the official SegaSonic universe mixed with elements from SatAM, Underground, and both the Archie and Fleetway comics to broaden its universe. Characters and events from the respective continuities are explored more and given a new coat of paint.

Wow, if we ever meet we might do one together. THIS IS MASSIVE POTENTIAL!!! And maybe I would love to create some new villains and not the clumsy, the ones that want justice against the heroes, just having fun destroying what is good, becoming diabolical to destroy the forests and towns or becoming ultimate beings they want to destroy the universe. etc.. AND MAYBE NEW HELPS, THAT ARE LOYAL BUT LIKEABLE! I do not want to just do it for money. Nowhere near that. I want to do it to entertain and hopefully will last long on TV and having different formulas each and every episode. And voice actors witch would sound like how the characters would speak. And animation would be as good as it can be. Lets make a alliance.

Actually, Sleet isn't the only wolf in the Sonic series. There's also Lupe (leader of the Wolfpack Freedom Fighters), Draco (a criminal), Leeta and Lyco (identical twins), and Guntiver (leader of the Artic Freedom Fighters) to name a few.

Sweet art, man.

I always liked Sleet from the moment I saw him in SU.

Too bad he didn't get a better role in the show or even become a main villain of the comic.

It would make sense if he was in the comic world and it was around the time they banned robotizing..
but I don't think it was around Robotnik's time..Eggman still make em half robot half animal though -can't remember what that was called-

still, a great character that had a really awesome voice actor

Actually, a character resembling Sleet can be seen in the crowd at Mina Mongoose's concert in Archie Sonic issue #134 (along with many other characters from both "Underground" and "Fleetway"). Whether it was him or not is anyone's guess.

And yes, Maurice Lamarche was the perfect voice for this character. I couldn't have picked a better voice.

I think I saw that..I can't remember >w<"
ya I know they like to nudge in the underground characters, I think I read somewhere they had a comic with Sonia and Manic talking to Sonic. And like Sonia was getting jealous that Sally was a real princess? and Manic got jealous over Tails?
I can't really recall, it's been a while sadly.

agreed ^^
