Today is a day like any other. Nothing special will happen that makes this day any different from any other. I'll go to work soon, then I'll come home, waiting for the weekend.

But because of the way time works, because of our need to connect in this world and make memories, certain days become more important than others.

I remember my birthday and the birthdays of others. Holiday dates that any number of us celebrate (or choose not to). Graduation dates and so on.

This day holds meaning to me, because eight years ago, it was the first day someone other than my family told me "I love you."

I didn't say it back right away, it took me a while before I could say it and mean it. And I had no way to anticipate everything those three words would bring.

Love, comes in many forms. It changes shape over time in so many, many ways. Unforeseeable ways. But what doesn't change, is that once you love someone, and spend time with them... Especially for eight years. That person will always be important to you, and as long as you keep your heart warm and don't let what the world throws at you freeze it up, you'll always be able to love.

With that, I want to say I love you, and thank you, to my best friend Ambunny . We've been through a lot, and while the way she and I love each other has changed, it's still there as long as we foster it. She will always be family to me, like a little sister that I will continue to look out for. Being around her, can feel like home, more home than when I was with my actual family.

And one day, when we no longer live in the same city, state, country really, going our separate paths, I'm hoping we can continue to be there for one another as best friends, visit one another, create more memories, and always be a part of the other's life for as long as time allows.

Because, there is no such thing as infinity. Nothing lasts for ever. You have to give it your absolute all to keep whats important in your life. And I will. So many friends come and go in my life. Disappear. Some, for reasons they won't even tell me. But Amber? I think I have a friend for life, and as long as she wants to continue to be my friend, I'll be there.
