Description
I've wanted to make an exclusive form for Halloween quite a while now, since I already have some sort of change in my fursona for other holidays. Over a few weeks of sketching and a whole day in photoshop, this is what I come up with...This is my "Nightmare Forme." "Halloween form" sounded little in comparison to this, and it sounds more menacing that way, fitting to the overall design.
Logan's Nightmare Forme
Unlike Amber's Dream Forme (we decided to post on the same day, heh heh) coming from shapeshifting in October, Logan uses his Ligntning Necklace to transform into this during the night. How, one might ask? Well, somehow placing the necklace around the broken part of his tail during a full mooned night triggered the DNA of the beast that originally cut his tail in the past... altering his form into, well, something else.
Clearly, this forme is more of a thing of nightmares, and the power that comes with it... well, the more it's used the more corrupt Logan becomes. That's not to say he is evil, Angelfoxes are not evil... Now angelfoxess of death... Hmmm...
Logan, Nightmare forme, and "art" © me
Concocted, not inspired, but Ash's enthusiasm with her Halloween form and Amber's wanting to make one with me did help quite a bit.

Hmmm, you are right, this form does resemble such similarities to death. I actually wanted to put a red sand hourglass attached to the right wing, but I forgot about it when I colored over the sketch.
Magic won't help though, the blue flamed lantern has properties to negate such things. Lucky though, since it is still Logan, you won't be in any... real danger. Of course, that's not to say the beast behind his transformation could be dealt with, running might be the only option, can't kill that which isn't alive.
We both have strong imaginations, yes.

Huh, well, I could rant about this, but...
Well, there is a way to deal with such a thing, but it would involve energy manipulation, (direct interaction with pure or changed energy.) Which could be used to break the lanterns by not necassarily using the energy, but by forcing more energy into it than it can contain. Essentially breaking it's barriers and leaving it vulnerable to attacks.
XD, we do have one heck of an imagination, and I will say this, no matter how powerful you are, there is always some way to defeat such a powerful being.
Yep, even if I make an ridiculously powerful character, I always make sure to include some shortcomings. Why? Becuase it makes so much more interesting than a "Yay, I always win, I'm invicible" character. Of which I hate with a passion.
Jeez, this is turning into quite the brainstorm, isn't it?
...well crap, I ranted anyway.
Okay, I'm done. Let's leave this be, okay?

Not leaving it be yet.
Normally, I would agree with you on not making your own character more powerful than they should be. Personally, I don't like people having all strengths and zero weaknesses. For my character in himself, I've worked that he has many weaknesses to compliment his strengths, so he's all around.
However, this Nightmare Forme is not supposed to be beatable, because it's not my character, it's the forme of the beast he escaped long ago. It was more of an angel of death kind of thing, you can't really kill the angel of death, but in a sense he did run away from it.. It is just for Halloween though, and since he isn't the original angel of death beast form, he does have a few weaknesses, but the lantern isn't one of them. Your tactic wouldn't work.
If anything, this makes me wonder how I would go about making this a game character, what strategy could be used to defeat it.. Hmmm..

Well, how about the "Gigyas" strategy?
If a boss is far too strong currently, find a way to go back in time and fight it in a weaker state, thus preventing you from fighting it in the future.
BTW, if you know what Gigyas's true form is, it's far more creepier than yours. Really, go find out, it's really odd.
Really, I'm out of ideas after this one.
Ya know, I just might draw my personal version of a Halloween/Nightmare form. (Hallo 1st, Night 2nd.) Of course, I need to design my persona first.

I don't know anything of Gigyas, but time travel doesn't work that way; if you go back in time to destroy a monster that is too strong in the present, then if the monster is destroyed you wouldn't have had a reason to go back in time because that monster would not exist.
And keep it halloween form for you buddy, Nightmare Forme idea is mine.

Well then, I shall call it my Darkside form.
Well, if I couldn't beat it, the is one last thing to try. One that stems from an old myth, Concerning Cerbures, a guardian of death.
Music soothes the savage beast. I myself am a pretty good musician, so I could weave a beautiful song to calm him. If I couldn't defeat him, I'd rather be allies, strange as that may sound. We really cannot escape death, so why fear it? I'd rather make the whole trip much easier.
Oh, and google Mother 2. If you alter the past, then you cause another timeline to occur, one in that you never had to fight such a creature. It's a little thing called a paradox.
Go read Bob and George, guy uses time paradoxes nonstop and manages for it all to make sense in the end.
By going back and altering your past, you can make it so that certain events never happen, of course, you could just as easily cause even worse ones...
Wow, this is turning into one rather long arguement, isn't it?

Darkside form, sure.
Music won't do anything, that's Cerberus, not a Nightmare Forme. It's not even about fearing, it's just a form, it's not going to hurt anyone.
That's video game logic, realistically, if time travel were to work, you can't go back in time to change something or you wouldn't have had reason to go back in time. Creating "alternate realities" goes against the laws of energy and mass conservation. The paradox is being unable to alter sense altering would mean never having had reason to go back and alter.
If anything, all the time traveling that ever will happen has already happened in the past, resulting in what is now and in the future.
And you can't alter Logan's past, he's part guardian angel, it negates such things.
This isn't an argument, just debating.

Well, everything I've said where mere suggestions. There's really no need to be so stubborn, try being a little open minded.
An alternate reality is a deviation from the current path. Because flow was changed, the future you knew of no longer exists, you've gone and eliminated that path and created another out of it. Time travel is a one way street, once you go, there's no turning back. The simple fact that you exist in another time means that your old one is no longer there.
Nightmare's are born of our irrational fears, of things that we truly don't understand and fear. True, he may never DO anything, yet his simply being there would drive others into a great panic, being something born of fear. It would be both a curse and a blessing. Those of evil intent would be in grave danger, yet those good of heart would have nothing to fear. The curse is that simply being in his presence would make you very afraid and paranoid, though not necessarily of him. His fear is of something he ran from long ago and it eats away at his very being, gradually turning him into something of a completely different nature.
My guess is that it is a process that cannot be stopped.
I'm sorry Logi, that I must continue this, yet I felt the need to try and explain it from my point of view.
I see the world in a very different way, due to a number of things that happened.
I tend to debate quite a lot of things, I understand your point of view, but please, we are talking about a mythical creature, normal laws do not apply here. Then again, who am I to say what goes and what stays?
I'm sorry if this debate angers you, it was not my intent. I simply enjoy testing others imaginations, I try to get them to see both what is good and bad, that what was once impossible may entirely BE possible.
I critique, I question, and I look for the weaknesses. I am often called the devils advocate, that being that I look for negatives.
I love to critique another's work, simply in order to better them.
If this offends you at all, please, send me note saying so. I do not wish for this to grow into something that we cannot recover from.
I'm sorry.

Dude, it's just a picture of a fictional entity with laws and rules only applied to his world. You're involving your world and rules conflicts and is unnecessary. Matter and anti-matter man, leave it be, take a breather, go eat some chocolate ice cream or something, I dun really care.

Correct. It is your world and your rules. I only gave suggestions and ideas for you to toy around with. Apparently, it was taken another way.
Sorry for that, I tend to brainstorm a lot and every response you gave served fueled that storm, till it got out of control. I can be very random and I don't often realize what exactly I'm doing and how the other side may see it.
It was a very thought provoking piece of work, though.
Anyway, I'll keep the comments to a minimum next time, okay?

Well, regardless of what comes next, I'm going to this.
If this is the end of the discussion, then thank you, it was the most interesting one I've had in quite some time.
Also, I sincerely apologize for any troubles I may have caused you during this debate. It was never my intention.
