If those are college books under the T.V, they probably cost more than a T.V stand haha. Honestly this piece moves me. It's one of my favorites, and I love re-visiting it. I think about it sometimes, just doing every day things, because it gives me hope. I'm poor and when I look at this picture I think "I would be happy in that setting, if I had someone to love me. I wouldn't care what the walls looked like, what we slept on, how little we ate. I wouldn't care about minimal entertainment. I want to be with someone I love."

This is very much like my and my boyfriend's room - a mattress topper on the floor and a gaming console on the floor. A similar arrangement is not as rare as I thought I guess, assuming it's an actual room and not a complete reflection of your imagination.

I'll bet it's a black and white TV too! I lived like this for several years after my divorce, but my ceilings were MUCH lower. Worked nights, slept all day, met a girl who also worked nights so we both slept all day with the 2 cats in a eerily similar sparsely furnished 2 room apartment.
