I fell in love with this the moment I saw it. I just have to buy a print. This is too reminiscent of Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced. This just screams Vierra for me.

thank you! it's a scanned sketch so theres a lot of texture from the pencil/paper in there. I did additional coloring with the 'oil pastel brush' (comes with most versions of photoshop) here -Β

Wow. Β I find it extremely effective when you draw in this style. Β Your beautiful and effortless marriage of manga, urban and American comic styles is incredible, and everything feels deep and storied, like this really is just a snapshot of life in all its complexity, or at least of a finely-crafted tale. Β The exquisite design, poses and expressions speak volumes about the characters, further adding a sense of believability to the piece, while the muted colors really seal the deal on the overall atmosphere. Cool concept and perfect execution. From where came the inspiration? I mean, all those feathers and brown skin make him look kind of Amerindians (maybe a distant future or an alternate reality race, I don't know...)

tho I have to say that the 'companion's right (spectator's left) pants pocket looks very odd. (looking at your tumblr it seems like it's a consequence of shortening his arm from the original sketch)
