Description
It's Yuki again. I was planning to upload this story of young Kazuya (fav.me/dblihs1 ) in July but somehow this is postponed due to what's happening in Hong Kong right now. This is the first time I draw using my phone. Next I'm trying to give Nagi (fav.me/dbkmsu5 ) and Mita (fav.me/dboc9o1 ) more context.
Hope you enjoy it.

'Did you watch Kazuya's solo debut yesterday? I'm gonna stan him from now on,' a high school girl told her friend her new discovery excitedly.
Meanwhile, a man in his mid-thirties, next to the girls, scrolled the entertainment news on his phone. On the headlines: Kazuya Sakuraoka came back with his successful debut after the hiatus since the scandal with his fans.
'You really did it,' thought the man, as memories of his encounter with Kazuya 15 years ago came into his mind.
***
15 years ago, the man was a third year univeristy student studying to be a teacher. He was assigned to Kazuya's middle school for a three months internship, teaching Kazuya's class English.
Although he was studying to be a teacher, he wasn't really fond of his profession. He only regarded 'teacher' as a job. All students were merely his clients and he only wanted to finish this internship as soon as possible.
Everything went boringly well as he thought, until one day when he had to put Kazuya in detention class because Kazuya failed his English test.
'So Sakuraoka, here're the assignments you have to finish before both of us can leave today,' he handed out the question sheets to the uninterested Kazuya.
'Takahashi sensei, may I ask you a question?' asked Kazuya.
'Go ahead,' he causally answered, looking outside the windows mindlessly.
'Do you like teaching?'
'Well...' surprised, Takahashi answered with hesitation, 'Yeah.'
'Really? I see.' Not convinced by Takahashi's answer, Kazuya continued to work on his asssignments.
'Why do you want to know it?' asked Takahashi, feeling curious.
'Maybe because you look like what I will be in 10 years,' Kazuya put down his pen, 'doing something you're not interested in for living.'
'You're more mature than an average 15-year-old,' lauughed Takahashi, 'So why don't you guess what I'm interested in?'
'Women? You look like those guys who will go partying after work.'
'Not really,' Takahashi sighed, 'Don't be deceived by how I look like. I want to make a career in the music industry, as a music producer maybe.'
'What a coincidence,' exclaimed Kazuya, 'Me too, but as a singer.'
Takahashi looked at Kazuya in front of him, who in his opinion, was a star born-to-be. He got visuals, vocals, charisma... everything a successful singer needed to have.
'Then, go for it. You're still young and have lots of chances.'
'Thanks,' Kazuya returned to working on the last few questions of his assignment, 'you're the first one to encourage me. My family only wants me to succeed the family business.'
Feeling embarrassed due to the unexpected gratitude from Kazuya, Takahashi turned away, 'Don't give up so soon so you won't regret when you're at my age.'
'You're 21 now? Not old at all.'
'There're lots of responsibilities and stuff to take care of as an adult,' signed Takahashi.
'Life is uneasy.'
'Sure it is,' Takahashi looked at his watch, 'Hey, but don't forget to finish your assignment first.'
Just as Takahashi finished his last sentence, Kazuya passed the completed assignments to Takahashi, 'Can I laeve now?'
'Why not?' Takahashi didn't bother to check whether Kazuya really do the assignments, he simply urged Kazuya to leave, 'See you tomorrow.'
'Bye sensei,' Kazuya left the classroom, and Takahashi thought 'What an interesting person he is.'
Since the detention class, Takahashi and Kazuya became closer, especially when they later found out their homes were close to each other. They talked a lot as if they were friends, despite their 6 years age gap.
Time passed quickly. Soon it was the last day of Takahashi's internship.
That day, Kazuya bidded farewell to Takahashi who's about to return to Tokyo to continue his studies.
'Well, are you sure you want to give me this CD of Mr Children with their signature on it?' asked Kazuya as Takahashi forced him to accept it as a gift.
'Just take it. It's really nice to talk with you in these three months. i understand more what I want to do,' smiled Takahashi.
'...' Kazuya was silent.
'Or if you really want to return it, wait until you become a successful singer,' Takahashi picked up his bag as the bus to the local airport was approaching, 'I will wait.'
'Okay... Good luck,' Kazuya pretended he did not care at all, but in fact he did - he was a bit sad that the person whom he can open his heart to was leaving now.
And Takahashi felt the same too. Seeing Kazuya being so sad, he wanted to pat Kazuay's head and tell him not to cry. But he didnt. After all, they were only some newly met friends who might not meet again. They would likely fade out in each other's life sooner or later.
When Takahashi went aboard the bus, Kazuya looked away and Takahashi could not see Kazuya's face.
As the bus disappeared into the horizon, the memories of his short encounter with Kazuya ended.

'Beep...beep.' Takahashi's phone rang.
'Hi, this is Takahashi.'
'Takahashi-san, it's Kazuya,' on the other end of the phone was the singer who just made his successful solo debut, 'My single topped the charts.'
'Congratulations. Keep on the hard work.'
'Sure, I will. Thanks for supporting me for so long.'
As the conversation ended, Takahashi wondered whether he shall reveal himself to Kazuya. But then he decided not to, as Kazuya's debut single title suggested 'Keep it secret.'
