'I would return soon.'

I shouldn't have believed in your words, knowing that was a dangerous journey.

But no matter how I objected, I knew you would still go on the journey, for the money to pursue my dreams.

'Before I return, take this charm with you as if it's me,' you said as you gave me your charm you had always brought with you.

'It feels like you will be gone for good,' I couldn't help speaking out my instincts, 'Just don't go.'

'You think too much,' you smiled and hugged me, 'While I'm not here, just keep on what you've been doing.'

I knew I'm not thinking too much - and you knew it. But still I nodded, and buried my face in your chest so you wouldn't see me sobbing. Knowing I'm a person with pride, you didn't say anything about it, just gently stroking my straight hair which was different from yours.

That night was like eternity, as we felt each other closely, trying to etch the moment into our memories.

Then, it was dawn, we bid farewell as you left for the journey.

'When you come back, I will show you what I achieved,' I told you.

'Yeah sure, make me proud,' you patted my head.

And that's the last word you said to me. 50 years since that night, you haven't come back to see my achievements.

People said you'd died already. I refused to accept it, despite knowing that's the truth. My achievements would be meaningless without you.

However, that doesn't matter anymore. As my life is reaching its end, I will see you again.

Wait for me.
