You gaze down at baby Judith, smiling as she waves her tiny feet in the air. You reach out a finger and she grabs it, tugging softly. You laugh.
Strong arms slip around your waist from behind you and you look up to see Tyreese smiling at little Judith as she plays with your finger.
"Hi, honey," you say softly, moving deeper into Tyreese's arms. One thing you absolutely loved about him is whenever he hugged you, he's so big he envelopes you whole, so sometimes you aren't sure where he begins and you end. That, and his amazingly sweet personality. Eventually, Judith tires of your finger and lets go, falling fast asleep. You and Tyreese watch her for another minute before he tugs you away.
"Let's go to bed," he says quietly. You smile up at him in response, thinking. Tyreese glances back at you and sees your pensive expression and he stops, pulling you into a deserted corridor. You look up at him in confusion, but he's smiling.
"You want one," he says.
Your face falls. "Yeah, someday, with you. But, in this world...."
Tyreese reaches up and cups your cheek in his large hand. "Rick did it."
You look up at him, smiling a little. "Yeah," you admit, "he did...." Then you grow somber again. "But Lori-"
"It's not going to happen to you," Tyreese says firmly. His eyes soften as he gazes at you. "I promise I'll protect you."
"You can't protect me from everything, Tyreese," you say quietly.
"Watch me," he says gruffly. Then he leans down to kiss you, trapping you against the corridor wall and him. Not that you mind.
Your hands move to grip his biceps and he presses his against the wall on either side of you.
It's not like any other time he's kissed you before. This kiss is full of love, passion, sincerity, and protectiveness. You can't remember a time when you've ever felt safer, or more loved. Eventually, he has to let you go, but he keeps his head lowered next to yours, breathing heavily against your neck.
"I thought it would be someday," you joke.
"Hmmmm...." Tyreese sighs. "Why not get a head start and practice?"
You laugh, pushing him back. An impossible feat if he didn't let you. "Not in the corridor."
He laughs, but you can tell he's disappointed. He pulls you against him, tightening his arms around you into a warm hug. "Seriously," he says against your hair, "I love you."
"Seriously," you say, wrapping your arms around his neck, drawing him closer, "I love you too."
