It didn't taste as good as I'd have imagined...Also I think I broke my back from streaming the whole thing
Β Β Huzzah! Tis finished! This was actually supposed to be a Halloween themed painting with the orange lighting supposedly coming from a jack-o-lantern, but it kinda morphed into a jack-o-lantern infused butterfly
This is also my first time attempting to do backgrounds and I think the perspective didn't come out as skewed as I had imagined. I'm genuinely quite pleased with the result! I had loads of fun shading this. Its amazing how much of an impact scenery has on the colour of the subject. Ohh! And do you guys like the new brushes I used? It's got this dirty kinda look to it 
As always, here's a WIP (sorry its not animated!)

I really like the coloring, mostly blues and dark colors, so the glow from the butterfly really stands out and draws our eyes in.

I do. And not because of Luna. A big part, yes, but it is really beautiful and it is a scene, not a portrait like the thousands out there of her.

Don't feel bad. Myself when I write a story, I put so much emphasis to the dialog than I barely write a narrative text.
I suck at that it seems.

Oh. I tried to write a couple with a more elaborated narrative text, but alas, my limited english and skills about emotions couldn't allow me to write something on the same level as a simple kid book.
I read the G.M. Berrow's books and use it as a reference.
So, the solution? Writing it in french and translate it afterward. That's what I've done with the story I left for this drawing:

Mmm. I think you dont give yourself enough credit for your English proficiency. I never would've guessed that French is your native language! But for sure, if you feel the most at home writing in your native language, do so (:

I realized my limited vocabulary by reading english magazines and fanfics. I barely read novels and I would need to read many to raise my level. Plus I was struggling to write long texts since high school and I lose interest and focus thanks to my ADHD. Add to this the thousands of fanfics whom many get a AU tag after each episode and the risk of writing something too similar to another. I'm simply not passionate enough to put a lot of energy into writing a fanfic. So, I leave that to those who do have the passion.
Plus, I'm beginning to lose interest into MLP. I guess I'm becoming a bit biased.

Ahh I see. Fair enough! But it doesn't mean you should simply not try. If you feel like it, do it! Writing is really another way to express yourself. I'm sure some of my artwork is bound to cross someone else's as being oddly similar.
Mmm. I know that feeling all too well. What keeps me around is the community, not nessesarily the show. I know MLP doesn't capture my interest the way it did a couple years back, but the people here are just too amazing to let go.

The show changed. That's true. It was about friendship lessons at the end with the letters and the journal entries, until it stopped. Also the show became a bit more... emotional, family oriented when it was about quick humor and laughs. They brought that back this season in some episodes like Pies and Lies. But people change too. Many have grown up, have a family, a job. I'm a bit biased, but I still love dearly the mane 6 and Spike.

Well of course, you can't have an unbiased opinion. They're yours. I honestly don't know if it's my personal preference that's changed or of the show has changed into something else. Nevertheless, I still enjoy it. (I still need to catch up with S7)

Most of the time yes . I get lucky sometimes and can even watch some sweet 1080p ... But only for something like 5 minutes .. then the networks fails and makes my web browser crashΒ
