So.

This is my SnK OC Misaki Ayako Rina Yvonne - Susanne Ute Erika Diamondfield, but you can call her Mary Sue.

History:

Mary Sue knows Grisha because he saved her when she was about to be raped in a cabin in the woods. But she never lost her happy style of life because she always believes into the good properties of humans. Because both her parents died through robbery, Grisha takes her with him to Shiganshina district where she lived together with Eren and Mikasa. Also she was best friends with Armin and helps him when he was bullied.
When the Colossal Titan attacks Shiganshina she helps Armin to get Hannes so he could save Eren and Mikasa.
In Trost district she has the same dream as Eren where she saw Grisha giving her a key to the basement and injecting some ominous serum into her veins.
She decides to go with Eren, Mikasa and Armin to the military to be with her childhood friends. She graduates in the 104th trainee squad as number 4. Because she's scared of the titans she decides to go into the inner district to serve the king.

Additional Info:

- she has a crush on Rivaille because he saved her in Trost when Eren tried to plug the hole in the wall
- she owns a titan shifter ability but didn' t discovered this yet
- she has german, japanese and british roots

THIS. Is UTTER bullshit. Like srsly.

I saw some people who use this dollmaker for creating their snk oc and some of this looks just horrible and totally not fitting for the series.
I created this to show how you should NOT use a dollmaker for creating a serious snk oc.
The information above was a negative example of things you are able to read way to often in descriptions.

So, here I'm gonna tell you what's wrong with THIS example and some of the ocs created with that dollmaker I saw on this page.

1. The hair.

Unnatural color? Check.
Guys, please choose a natural color for your OC, just as brown, blonde, black or reddish. But NOT blue, pink, green, light orange,purple or ANY other color you can only achieve with chemicals.

2. Hair length.

Way too long hair which could tangle up in the ropes? Check.
Ever that snk canons usually have short hair at least down to her shoulders OR tied up hair with an acceptable-long pigtail? Even Christa ties up her hair when it comes to a mission. So just try to give your character hair that could not be the cause of their death when it comes to a serious fight.

3. Eye.

Heterochromia and unnatural eye colors? Check.
Give your goddamn character no bicolored eyes. It's not common but if you want to do it so badly, then please choose natural colors, such as blue and green or green and brown, but not FRICKEN red.
Also try not to make them albino, because their eye sight is just shitty and they would end up dead really soon.

4. Clothing.

Midriff? Check.
Don't give your oc some midriff. I saw so many ocs with midriff and that's just not good.
It shows way to much skin and that means more space to be injured by titans or in fights in general.
So just don't do it. And try to orientate yourself on the colors seen in the series. So use white, light yellow or olive for example as a possible shirt color.

5. The name.

Overly long semi-japanese name with unnecessary middle names? Check.
Guys. Please try to keep the name of your character into the universe. I saw many many ocs with japanese names even if it's confirmed that Mikasa is the last oriental character alive. Or at least the last one alive we know.
In these series you have the chance to give your oc your own name,so why you don't do it? In other fandoms you always use american names even if it's settled in japan and it seems like suddenly everyone is too lazy to use google to find some japanese names and then, when you are allowed to use names of other countries, you are able to use google to find japanese ones out of a sudden. WHY?
The origin of the names used in snk are commonly german or just european names (I mean look at this: Bertholdt, Reiner, Armin, Hannes, Franz. They are typical german names.)
So just try to keep this in a line. Same goes for the surnames btw.

6. Nicknames.

Non-fitting nicknames? Check.
If you want to give your character a nickname then please try to let it fit with the actual name or at least with some special trait of the character (like, if your oc is pretty strong then you can give him/her a nickname that represents this trait). As mentioned here in my example, 'Kitty' isn't a good nickname because it isn't even mentioned how she got this name.
*EDIT*
Also - don't use canon's nicknames! Examples: "Humanity's strongest"applies to Levi/Rivaille, while Mike is the second strongest. "Worth a hundred soldiers" applies to Mikasa and "Humanity's wisest" to Hanji/Hange.
Come up with your own one, and don't make it sound too similar to canon ones.

7. Height/Weight.

Underweight? Check.
I KNOW that food is a huge in problem in snk because it's really rare and the main food are bread rolls and stew, but.
Being part of the military means that you gain muscles sooner or later. And they just weight more than just 'fat' or no muscles at all.

8. Squad & Rank.

Top 10 and kicking out canons? Check.
It's a really spicy thing to put your oc into the same squad as the main canons because it could probably cause some trouble when it comes to the Top 10. No one says that you are not allowed to create an oc that is part of the Top 10, but if you want to do so, make sure to put your character into a squad which existed either before the storyline (such as 103rd Trainee Squad) or a squad that got created after the actual storyline (like 105th Trainee Squad). It's a delicate situation to put your oc into the Top 10 of the 104th,if all members are known by name.
By giving our example the 4th rank, we push down Annie, Eren, Jean, Marco, Connie, Sasha for one rank and kick out Christa of the Top 10 and that would destroy parts of the actual plot.

9. Personality.

Dere-Type? Check.
Don't. Describe. Dere-Types. For god's sake.
They are cliche, boring and EVERYONE is doing it, as it seems.
Why not giving your character a balanced personalty with good and bad aspects like every normal person own them? To just mention 'clumsy' as a bad trait to give your character at least one bad trait, be more creative, make them selfish, arrogant or give them low self esteem. It may took a bit more time to imagine this, but in the end you will have a well-balanced character personality.

10. History.

Angsty backstory? Double-check.
...do I really need to explain that?
Don't kill your poor parents, there can't be a world full of orphans, don't involve your oc into the backstory of some common golden trio and just be creative.

11. Additional Info & Special abillites.

Titan shifter & crush on a canon? CHECK.
First things first. Titan shifter ocs.
THERE ARE TOO MANY OF THEM. Every third oc I see is a shifter. WHY?
The titan shifter we know are there for a good reason (we may not know it yet, but hopefully we will know soon.) I don't think that turning your oc into a shifter will be a better base to ship the oc with Bertholdth, Reiner, Eren or RIVAILLE because it does not make everything more interesting.
Also why do people still ship their kawaii-desu-ne-oc with probably asexual canons?
Rivaille is the best example. If I would get one dollar for every girlfriend-oc or wife he owns, I would be a really rich bitch.
He's not the best boyfriend and he doesn't shows as much emotion as you guys may imagine him to have. Actually, every single emotion he shows in artworks or fanfictions beneath his usual expressions is just ooc and just don't suits him.
