im trying to find a balance,trying to find a balance.
the only true balance is in nature and that which seems chaotic.
what do people think about the composition on this, i was thinking of flipping it upside down for an effect.. but i felt like that was pushing what i had done as an original concept.. so yes.. this was taking while i was canoeing in a swamp.

i think this is one of those photos who actually could benefit from being flipped up side down. just to create a surreal feel. im saying that because im really drawn to the blurred leaves in the upper corner for some reason. i think you found an excellent balance in the color scheme too. tell me, is that ice, or is it just long shutter? i'd hate to think its ice haha.

this was in the okavanga delta which is basically a huge plains area of botswana africa that floods.. i was kayaking through the swamp and took this as it passed by me..
i was shooting with my 70-300! it was a task to get that in focus

i think upside down would have been nice but its cool to stick with what you feel in you gut. but the compostion is very even, i like that

I think it's fine the way it is. It's nice and simple - the eye is immediately drawn to the stick. Everything is balanced, from the way the stick is almost in the center of the photo to the reflections on the water, and even to the ripple in the water right by the stick that almost divides the picture in half. I like it very much.
