Description
Although this is my painting I can't really take the credit for it. It is a copy of a 1978 poster by the British artist Peter Elson, His poster is - in my opinion - one of the best pictures of the Michael Trim design.I painted this picture because after Peter Elson's death, his sister would not give her permission for the original artwork to be used on a War of the Worlds fan site and the only way to avoid copyright infringement was to redo the painting from scratch.

Thank God the War of the Worlds fanbase isn't like the Sonic fanbase, because if it was, Β then all of the comments would be like "The Handling Machinehas six legs instead of five! RUINED FOREVER!!!!!"

Lol but the Handling Machine does have six legs in this image; the sixth is hidden behind it, and is only just visible. Look just under the joint of where the right arm connects to the hood.

that woman in blue on the left, it looks as if she's saying "Da fuk is it doing?", Heheheh.Β
This does seem a lot more clearer then the original art piece if I remember how I saw it.Β

It's only clearer than the original because I cheated and used photos for the sky, fire and wheat field.

Yes, me too. I saw it for the first time in the PSX game and I was just like "OH MY GOSH, THAT LOOKS JUST EPIC!". I must say I even like your copy even more, although I'm not sure why, perhaps there's something better, something emotional and deep about the colors or maybe just the fact that it's enlarged greatly comparing to what there was in the game (Oh boy, it was so little). People who're in love with JWWoTW make such a little community but we're the elite

Beautifully realised re-rendering of a classic piece of art. It's sad they wouldn't give permission to let the art be used. Oh well. Hello, new wallpaper!

I've tried to make the machines look more metallic than P. Elson's, they looked as if they were painted white.

No, as I said, this is a direct copy of a Peter Elson painting. He didn't put Red weed in his painting so I didn't.

Unfortunately it's not a very big download picture, it was made for a desktop picture and that's the size I made it. It wasn't until I finished it I thought 'I should have made it bigger'.

Looks like the martians have some interesting ideas for vehicles! A pity they didn't come to earth so they could sell them! They'd have made a BUNDLE!
