Description My exams aren't done yet, but since art is finished, I am officially back in business! I don't really have anything to show just yet, but I think this is good enough. One of my themes in Graphics involved character design, and transformation of the face through expressions. I made little sketches of my two best friends, basically to cartooni-fy them, if that's even a word XD and these are my favorites from the batch. I took this as a challenge to learn the basics of cartoons, since I'm not quite satisfied with my drawing style despite all I've learned in the past year. I have a big problem with same facing, and I also want to learn to capture someone's likeness on paper without necessarily making them look realistic. The particular features you see here are the ones I'm going to try and use in my art from now on, and hopefully, my characters will stop looking like mannequins

These are very good, I can learn from them *-* I've spent quite a few minutes observing how you drew the nose, mouth, eyes, and face shape in each little drawing. Now I know I won't become better at drawing face expressions just by looking at someone else's sketches but XD it's cool to see how you managed to draw their emotions.

Thank you! You have no idea how flattering it is to know your art is being studied closely Oh no, you can pick up a lot of things just by studying someone else's style, even briefly - is that not why we have to copy artists' techniques at school? For example, someone on tumblr taught me that the upper lip is better defined when made a darker color than the lower lip, or inked black. A few artists on this website taught me that you can give a pinkinsh tint to areas where heat is concentrated (cheeks, nose, ears, kneecaps, fingers, toes, knuckles etc). Really, it's the small things that help you formulate a style

Haha, you're welcome That's true, improving art is a long journey and it involves learning stuff from other artists.
