Dragon and Defiant are probably my favourite canon couple from the story. As you can see, I took some artistic license with the character designs. By Arc 16, Defiant and Dragon are working as a team hunting the Slaughterhouse Nine, and Defiant is pretty far gone with his cyborg body modifications. Probably more than what's depicted in the illustration. If you notice the bandages around his waist, the implication is that Colin has just given himself the robot leg nanothorn surgery they talk about in his interlude. The context of the quoted passage shows that Dragon is upset with him because cutting off his organic body parts takes away the human baseline she's been using to calibrate her prosthetic body.

Or as they're calling it these days, "playing ten by ten".
