Okay so hear me out -

When I was younger I always watched this kid's tv show about a badger and a fox. It was called "Leesdas, lettervos, boekentas" (translation : Readingbadger, letterfox, bookbag)
And the badger would help the fox go to the desert and along the way teach him the language (Dutch in this case) since the Fox couldn't speak. Also the badger wanted to leave home because she wasn't a proper badger like her family (or something). This show teaches kids simple words, it's really meant for six year olds. But recently I watched it again and (it's a puppet show btw) it's so low budget wow
But I still love it. It's unintentionally really funny. The voices really weird and the backgrounds are just seen falling apart.

But anyway ! I thought - let's draw some fanart. But in stead of those actually animals, I'm just gonna make rip-off anime designs yeeha

the girl is the badger one (I always thought she was a dude when I was little) and she has a computer with her, so she could see videos about the word we were learning (or something). The fox is a desert fox and he wants to go back to "sandland" (which obviously refers to the desert). He doesn't speak the language and will only repeat words the badger say. He has a red bag (he got that from the badger) with a little notebook in which he writes down the words he learns.

honestly, the badger (who is simply called "dasje" meaning "little badger") is kind of a dick. She was kind to the fox though (who was named "Vosje" which means "little fox" but I can remember something about him having a different name but you won't find out about that until like way later in the series). oke dus kijk. Ik ken letterlijk niemand anders die dit hele gedoe kent, anders dan mijn tweeling zus. Ik moest dit altijd op school kijken in groep 3 waar je toen die woordjes leerde weet je wel (poes, neus, hond dat soort shit). Ik ben nog nooit iemand tegen gekomen die deze geflipte beesten ook kent. Ik weet ze zien dr niet oet. Maar ik quote nog dagelijks deze show. Voor de echte kenner mijn favoriete stukje was wanneer ze t woord pauw gingen leren en je had een heel musical nummer over n pauw en n kauw die zaten te bekvechten.
