Description
I had originally created this character in my early attempts at using ZBrush. Though I was really pleased with my first concept, I learned so much more since then. With that said, I really wanted this “Jake” character to look more “real.” I think I finally managed to reach this goal. Please let me know what you think.
Technically this is still a WIP (work-in-progress). I am still detailing the coat, pants and other accessories. I will post the completed sculpt at a later date.

I don't know I like the stash the earlier version had. I think the real look is more about lighting and rendering engine. But who am I to talk? I don't like to critique. Some one with that amount of stubble would also have random stubble on the upper cheek. The brows are kind of dark. I do like the face more here though. Kind of tight on the upper nose bridge (always been this mean?). That being said, I find it really hard to do men in my art, soo. not bad at all!

Thank you for your comment. I always appreciate feedback. It is my belief that lighting and rendering engine does help when creating a real look, but I also think "the Devil is also in the details." Meaning, that texturing, material, and sculpting in the overall "bits" that make up the character also helps a lot. You're right about brow (the character is suppose to appear always "angry"), but it is a little tight and I will make the change on the finished model.
Again, thank you for the feedback.
