Description

Blackbird Woman was delighted. The raid had gone exceedingly well. The fight had been short and exhilarating. She had captured a horse and a ve'ho'e woman. Back in camp, she might trade the woman for a couple of additional fine ponies. She could offer the pale settler woman to the warrior societies. Whoever offered the most ponies would get her. This one was easily worth three or four fine ponies. The scalp of the soldier she had shot would adorn her lodge nicely. After she had danced over it, of course. It would be a great victory dance! Anything else she had gained wouldn't last long. The ve'ho'e hat she had put on was just for fun, she would throw it away before they entered camp. Likewise, the fine cigar she had captured would soon be consumed. But that was allright. She got all that counted. Scalps, war honours and horses.

With a sense of pride she glanced at Falcon Woman. She was the youngest among the war party, but she was quickly gaining war honours and experience now. Falcon Woman, dressed in her inevitable blue tradecloth leggings and red wool breechclout, had a penchant for the spiderweb-like fabrics the vé'hó'e made. Falcon Woman almost seemed to take more pride in the elaborate fan and umbrella she had captured than in the scalp she had taken from the soldier she had killed. The arrogant vé'ho'e woman who had once owned these things was now sitting astride a captured cavalry horse, her hands bound behind her back. Without her fancy dress and blouse she looked a bit like a plucked goose. Blackbird Woman smirked. Falcon Woman's captive was younger and prettier and much more gaudily decked than her own one. She would probably fetch twice a as many ponies than her own captive. But that was alright with her.

As she passed Bad Hand Woman, she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. The wagon had been escorted by three soldiers, one to pick of for either of the woman warriors. But the third one, Bad Hand Woman's one, was still very much alive.

"You're doing it wrong, sister!", she chuckled. "First you kill'em, then you scalp'em and then you strip them, then you apply the cut marks so that everybody knows we did it. For Ma'heo's sake, don't tell me you wanna take this one back home?"

"I'm thinking about it..." mused Bad Hand Woman. "Why should only the male warriors have fun with captives? I think this one would make for a nice love slave..."

"There is a reason we kill male enemies. They are strong and dangerous. You never know what he is gonna do when you're asleep", Falcon Woman hissed from behind her fancy fan. "Besides, he is ugly. He has nothing to offer a warrior of the People couldn't give you. He is pale and hairy. Just wait a few days. Then he will even have hair all over his face, just like a camp dog! If I was you, I would take the scalp and rather have fun with the Comanchero traders we are going to meet in a few days. You even speak Spanish, you can choose whoever you fancy among those, and those are our friends, unlike this soldier dog..."

Bad Hand Woman wasn't convinced. "Maybe.. But I'm curious what it's like with a notaxe've'ho'e. And he... like... he really seems to fancy me. Just look at that huge bulge there..."

The two other woman warriors rode around to inspect the captive. Falcon Woman chuckled. Blackbird Woman sucked on her cigar.

"He should be shitting his rump-sack leggings for fear. Instead he is almost ripping them apart because his ho'oxe apparently can't wait to be sucked into your ma'kesta...

"See...?", Bad Hand Woman smirked.

"But he looks weak. I know you. He wouldn't live through the night under you..."

Now all three warrior women giggled.

"Hey, before you slow us all down with a captive who may not be worth all the hassle, why don't you try him out right here?", Blackbird Woman said with a sardonic smile. "Shall we hold him down for you?"

"No, thanks", Bad Hand Woman said with a grin. "I can handle that on my own. I'll meet you by the river. With or without him..."

"Have fuuhuuun!, purred Falcon Woman.

With a gentle motion of her thighs Blackbird Woman motioned her war pony into a gait. "Always one hand on the pistol, don't forget!"

"Go away!", laughed Bad Hand Woman. Then she looked down on her captive.

"Nómonėhē'še... [Alright, let's do this...], she mumbled.

The young lad looked up to her with a confused mixture of horny hope and barely subdued mortal fear.

"Acosta te, Chico..." [Lie down, Boy], Bad Hand Woman whispered and nudged him with a gentle push on his chest. She didn't know if he understood Spanish, but it was the only ve'ho'e language she knew.

He seemed to understand just right...

Excellent work! Where are the boots and socks stripped of the captive soldier?

Thanks! The boots are next to his feet. The socks... probably still in the boots?

Thank you kindly! I guess after all the hassle they deserve a trade rendezvous with los Comancheros ...

Either that or we move on to the meeting with the Comancheros - that should be even more entertaining.

Hmmm, another interesting take on the Tsitsista!!! Are you familiar with the Lonesome Dove series of novels? I've read one. Of course, that's about Comanches mainly, but it's still the frontier. Maybe I should get a few more. Oh and there's Cheyenne Lance. This too gives one the feeling of the Old Wild West. Amazing how it's sort of gone around the world.

I saw the TV series they made out of lonesome dove. As for the novels, I don't read those too often where the natives are mere plot devices or sidekicks at best. There are enough historical accounts anyway.

I'd love to see that one day.
I suppose a lot of the later novels are more balanced, showing native life as well as the pioneer types as well.

Very nice illustration and story.  I have to admit that if I were the young man, I'd likely have the same, uh, reaction.  His future is probably grim, but it wouldn't be a bad way to spend some of the last moments of one's life... heh.

Well, if he passes the test, his future might not be that grim at all...
