something always seemed off about him, the way he walked, the way he spoke, the way he was always tired and emotionless. Almost like you're talking to a manikin or a cardboard cutout of a person.
in hindsight I could've probably known what he truly was before it happened.

it was pitch black the day when I found something that looked like torn, deflated skin and clothes soaked in blood and water. almost like something crawled out of it in search of something.... and I found exactly what that thing was looking for; a new vessel. a new body.

when I turned down that alleyway I saw this creature, this monster. it was Alan... the real one. it had been wearing a disguise of human skin ever since I met him, and that suit finally gave way... I saw that monster crawl into another one before shrinking to fit the size of the new human body it claimed as a disguise.... I swear I saw it stare at me with it's one beedy glowing eye before I was blinded by this thick.. shady substance that got shot into my eyes. and when I cleaned the substance off, the creature was nowhere to be seen. just a puddle from where it was.

I'm scared now..
