Cherry Bomb is a character by Randy Green and Will Caligan who obviously cottoned onto the whole cherry madness thing at some point and went all comicy on it. You got to be careful around these comic professionals - dangerous people!

Very popular theme in literature I hear - at least 3 of Shakespeare fabled missing plays were rumoured to be set in space with a cherry flavoured coiffes donning the head of the lead female protagonist. Even Juliet was meant to have a pink bob, but apparently there was a mix up in the costume department for the first production and noone ever looked back. True story.
