"Gaspode had a way of turning up silently like a small puff of methane in a crowded room, and with the latter’s distressing ability to fill up all available space."Okay, its not October, but thought I'd do a few more Discworld ink drawings and pretend I was more productive last Inktober.... so shhhh! It's our little secret.
Today it's Gaspode the wonder dog... discworld's talking dog and roaming flea sack. The drawing ended up looking far more like a very scruffy version of my own dog than how I quite envisage Gaspode, but I love my dog so much I didn't really mind
Pen and ink... and fleas.

This is always how I envisioned "Benji" turned out after rescuing Paul and Cindy.
(Sorry, not sure if Benji had the same degree of street-cred in Australia as he did in America in the '70s

I'm only vaguely aware of Benji the dog brand so the 'Paul and Cindy' names are unfamiliar to me. I imagine they are a folk duet that sing flower power songs and wear groovy demin flares though!

I have no idea who Gaspode is, but I have witnessed the existence of something very similar, in South Africa, on someone's farm. A tiny dog like 500 years old, blind and deaf, walked into everything, barked (or rather croaked) whenever it somehow sensed you were there... and man could that thing fart. You could run a truck on those fumes. It could literally clear a room. It was a walking fire-hazard.
