Day five of my own personal 'How fast is your spaceship?' week of scifi nerdiness. Today, the movie 'Alien'...Don't know how Alf got in there though!

I think it added to the allure and feel of the movie too.Β You didn't see much of the alien even towards the end.Β
Another good movie like that was Split Second which was a great thriller.Β

I just picked up the first 5 seasons of Red Dwarf for a re-watch... so there may be something featuring them at some point

GAME OVER, MAN!
One o the most awesomest movies ever made. Β Well, Alien and Aliens were. Β The other movies in the franchise shall not be mentioned.

Obviously I'm a fan of them too... this is the second 'Alien/Aliens' thing I've done in the last couple of months. Think the first one wins because its the original, but the second one is certainly the most quotable!
Have a great Christmas and avoid any face hugging, chest bursting, acid bleeding xenomorphs this season!

The lego blocks shooting out the back are a nice touch!

Waylan industries must have bought out the 'Swiss army knife' company and got them to make the ship for them, I'm guessing.

they want a design for a ship that could be 'ready for anything'. (I think
the toilet plunger might have been taking it a bit too far though, and the
guy responsible has since been fired!

Superb. A lot of people don't know ALF was an acronym. My Mum still has a ALF doll on her bed. Great show that. Bit of a sad ending though.

Interesting house to grow up in. I grew up with TV. Black and white then colour when we could afford one.
Totally addicted to Sci Fi books as a kid though.
FYI ALF stands for Alien Life Form.
I didn't know about the movie though. Might look for it and surprise Mum.

Confession time: I was aware of the show and knew the character from books and comics but never saw the show until the movie special many years later. Grew up in a house with no TV or movies, so of course I've been doing my best to make up for it ever since I left home

I must have missed the plunger on the front of the ship in the movie.Β I'll look for it next time the movie is on.Β

It's only in the special edition extended directors cut... in the other versions they were careful not to show it, after a fight with the plunger company who had promised to sponsor the production, but reneged at the last minute
