Description
ContinuingΒ my own personal 'How fast is your spaceship?' scifi nerdiness series. This one, LEXX.Lexx was a show that was certainly out there but ever since I saw the first episode I wanted to paint Stanley Tweedle (4th class security guard, intergalactic loser and accidental captain of the LEXX) and now I have.
Pencil and ink, painted in Photosop.

I am not familiar with this show, but I don't think that stops me from appreciating the humour in this
image. Don't bug me? Dude, you're a giant bug! I really hope that fly swat is just super far away
for it to be so small, otherwise it isn't going to be big enough!

It was a pretty obscure show and I'm not sure it actually aired on free to air TV here in Australia. I only got onto it after I got given the box set from the DVD distribution company as part of a thank you parcel for some work I had done for them.

Wow, that is a great thankyou for them to send you!
And I wouldn't be at all surprised that this was a show that didn't get aired
on free to air TV. We miss out on so many shows because they don't get picked
up. One of the many reasons why I don't bother watching TV now and just wait
for the DVD releases.
Merry Christmas! I hope you had an awesome day

Not familiar with the 'Satellite of Love' and only heard about Mystery Science Theater 3000 from some american podcasts I listen to... not sure it really made it over in Australia.

This was the weirdest show I had ever seen [at the time I stumbled upon it; geez, must have been the early 80s, if I remember right - certainly, since, I have seen much stranger fare], though I have to admit to acquiring a massive crush on the little slave robot[?] chick. Β Been so long since I watched it, I really don't remember. Β
Anyway...
Yeah, what a wild ride. Β Have often wondered if the folks who did Farscape used this as a jumping off point. Β I mean, the similarities are almost too many to mention.
As usual, you have given it a nice little twist, while maintaining its original inanity..
Great one!
PS - In the event you're wondering why I'm so tardy in posting this comment, I was down with the flu for the past three days. Β Wasn't much in the mood to do anything - well, other than shiver under the covers and flee to the bathroom every twenty minutes. Β
Fun times.

Lexx and Farscape were actually airing around the same time apparently (Lexx was 1997-2002) and there are a lot of interesting parallels, though the effects and production values do seem about a decade apart.
Hope you are feeling better... that sounds pretty rotten!

Cheers! As for the 'Lost in Space' TV show... it was on before I was born and I grew up in a house with no TV, so never had the chance to see it on re-runs either.
