Did a quick little pencil sketch of a woman on a llama (see iddy bitty little pic in corner - no its not a coffee stain, its a woman on a llama). Kind of like how it was working, so decided to do a tighter, larger sketch of the 'Llama queen'.Channelled a little Frazetta in the figure I think - thats what I kind of liked about the initial sketch.
Don't know if I'll ever get around to finishing it properly, but here it tis so far.

I used 3H, 2H for softer lighter tones, HB and 2B for the darker areas - standard pencils - and used a scalpel and very find sandpaper to keep them sharp.

Oh, Dave, Dave... I see this (amazing, as usual) drawing, I see "590 comments", and I have time on my hands, so I decide to read what people are saying; and, as I do, I notice something interesting: you answer each and every one of about 250 people, answering every question where needed, being grateful for every compliment, never seeming to realize "hey, of course it's great, you moron, I'm fucking LOOPY DAVE! DUHH!!".
So, basically, my question is this: Are you
A. batshit insane
B. a really, really nice person
Please please tell me it's A, because otherwise I'll have to ditch my current life and go help lepers in India for the next 30 years.

I do try and make a point of responding to everyone who takes the time to comment, though got to say its getting harder - its 5 days after I posted this picture and I'm still working my way through replies!
As for sanity - not sure you're in any position to judge - you just spent all that time reading through all those pages of comment

They are were all the rage in the llama riding community, until people started complaining about their sore necks and chiropractor bills - its one thing to suffer for your fashion, but to wear 40 pounds of stone and feather on your head gets to be too much eventually.

Think I'll leave the sketch as is - between the initial rough and the tighter picture of the gal, I have enough information to do a painting, which I think is the next logical step. Just dont hold your breath about seeing it for sometime though - got so much work and other semi- finished pieces to get through first!

lol! i really can't take responsibility for my llama count... my gf is the one handing out the majority of the llama badges. she's determined to get me to the "Golden Llama" level... but this llama craziness has been an awesome marketing tool for getting lots of comments, faves and watchers to my gallery.
