Description
This particular illustration has been sitting on my hard drive unfinished for the past year or so. Was rather unhappy about how it was going at the time and stopped. Finally got around to repainting and finishing it - not entirely satisfied with the end result, but there is still something appealing (at least to me!) about it. I think you might be unsatisfied because of her left ankle. The cartoonification here makes it seem like a horse ankle - like you expect a hoof to be in that shoe. Although this isn't the focus, the eye does tend to follow lines...
On the other hand, you could be thrown off by her being a left-handed golfer - a rare sight. The composition is spot on, but would that still be true after flipping it?
I hope that helps to give you an outside perspective? After all is said and done it's still a great work, and I still love it!
