Was meant to be a simple lineup of characters for the background in a poster I'm doing, but got a bit carried away...How many movies/characters can you get? (click for bigger view should make it easier

Don't know if you've read the books... but man, wait 'til you see Bobbie Fuckin' Draper. TV/movie casting doesn't always live up to the source material... especially with iconic characters, but The Expanse nailed it with Frankie Adams. I mean, iconic on the level of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Thanks! I did miss Mission to Mars, didn't I - someone suggested I have a tiny Tim Robbins floating through the atmosphere in the background. Β I do have AMEE the robot in there for Red Planet though.

I couldn't place the big white robot, the three eyes devil dude, the Creature from the Black Lagoon dude,Β or the floating blue dude. What about "The Martian Chronicles"?

The big white robot is also from Devil Girl from Mars, three eyes is from Angry Red Planet, Creature from the Black lagoons cousin is from 'It, the terror beyond space!' and the blue dude is Dr Manhattan from 'Watchmen'. Never saw the Martian Chronicles, but should probably check it out!

Those are all correct! Dr Manhattan set himself up on Mars when he got sick of humanity and the Flash Gordon was from the 1938 "Flash Gordons Trip to Mars"Β

Is it weird that out of all of these it was the Mutant from Invaders From Mars that I immediately noticed and recognized? It's those eyes, man.
I can get about 3/4 of these, but I have to know, who is that delightfully horrible red creature in the back, there?

The mutant from Invaders from Mars is pretty memorable, particularly those eyes.
That would be the martian from 'Angry red planet' from 1959... an oldie, but it did have some interesting designs in it.

Oh dude! I was just thinking how I would've liked to have seen something from 'Angry Red Planet' in the lineup, and lo and behold, there was and I just missed it! (I guess it doesn't help that the spider-bat is always the first thing to pop into my head whenever I think of that movie.)
