Description
For , second winner of 'chase down some Hermann Mejia Mad issues for me' deal.He asked for 'Pride and Prejudice' as his movie for his lovely missus.
6 hours of viewing later
Ended up a strange mixture of cartoon and portraiture and I'm not sure I was quite successful with either but the characters are fairly recognisable so all is not lost!
Pencil sketch, tinted in photoshop.

This one of my wife's favorite movie series of all time, and one of her favorite books. She saw this yesterday and absolutely loved it. Great work.

Thanks! They were fun to do, particularly as in this version of the story there was a strong emphasis on each personality.

Really beautiful work, love the mix of portraiture and cartoons This is another movie I haven't seen, but remember reading the book in High School English class (many, many moons ago!) Must add it to my watch list for a rainy day

Cheers Domi! Never read the book and the only version I had seen up til this point was the Ang Lee Emma Thompson movie. Wait for a loooong rainy day - this one is a two disc 6 hour marathon.

Actually this version is the 1995 TV mini series from BBC, but there have been a number of movies since - including a 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' movie supposedly in the works.

Not a zombie fan myself, though I do make an exception for Simon Pegg's 'Shaun of the Dead' - hilarious stuff!

Cheers my friend - very nice of you to say! Played this one a little straighter than usual coz its Pride and Prejudice, but the parents had enough personality and quirks to make allow for a bit of personality to shine through. If I ever painted it (and I doubt it very much) I think they would be the most fun to do.

One of your more "tame" pieces. very good. you could have gone all silly or you could have gone straight laced but I actually think you nailed the meaning of the book. nice work

Thanks Cant go too crazy with Pride & Prejudice, though I will admit I did entertain the idea of spicing it up with an alien or two, a face hugger and some large weaponary ....at least for a couple of minutes
Do wish I'd written Pride & Prejudice on the book spine in the picture though.

You can definitely tell who it is. Your pencil work is amazing, especially love Colin Friel's sideburns.

Thanks Erin! He had great sideburns didn't he - his acting was SO deadpan in that movie though, that they showed a greater range of emotions than he did .

Much Beyond fairly reasonable, this is really good work. Shows those Mad issues were worth a lot to you. Again, really great piece.
