Description
For , second winner of 'chase down some Hermann Mejia Mad issues for me' deal.He asked for 'Pride and Prejudice' as his movie for his lovely missus.
6 hours of viewing later
Ended up a strange mixture of cartoon and portraiture and I'm not sure I was quite successful with either but the characters are fairly recognisable so all is not lost!
Pencil sketch, tinted in photoshop.

Thanks Emily. I like to watch a movie, study the characters and get a feel for how they react and their more signature expressions before I draw something up - so I appreciate you saying so. Probably could have gone a little crazier with the moms face - she was a real picture of crazy facial expressions in this series.

This is just really charming. The layout, composition, whatever you like to call it is so eye-catching and tidy!
The Bennett parents are definitely my favourite part.

Thanks - I think the Bennett parents are my favourite bit too. Mr Bennett saved the first half of this particular version for me - delightfully dry and a bit of a tease.
And I'm not telling-you-lies

Dave, would you sell a print of your Quorra piece? Im looking at this fine job and Im thinking, how can I truly show how much i love your work?

Super nice of you Brian! Prints are a little problematic for me though... just dont know how to go about them.
To do a print properly through dA I really need to order a test print just to make sure the colours are working properly BUT that would cost me $30 or so and I'm rather hard up for cash at the moment. I have put up a few of my pics for print here (without a test print) and in 2 years have sold just one for a grand profit of around $3 ... unfortunately the feedback was that some of the colours were a little dark, but I'd need to see a print to know what and where to adjust.

Okay so thats basically a "no"
What would the price be say for an original Quorra say B@W and say its done purely old school? 8x10 or what is the international size, A4 I think? Shipping would likely cost me alot but lets say i was thinking say $100 U.S. money would I be anywhere on the "right" side of hell freezing over ?

Magnificent. But I thought Mr. Darcy was played by Colin Firth, not Stephen Moyer...

That would be the Pride and Prejudice and Vampires mini series right?
Of all the characters in the picture, Colins was the least successful - tried to add a little cartoonage to his face, but to me it just meant he didnt quite work as a characature OR as a portraite. If I was painting this I'd do a few fixes to him as I went along, but its a sketch and I'm kind of stuck with how he came out!
Cheers!

I was raised on early mad magazines... Mort Drucker was a genius... Waly Wood was another... you remind me of them combined... but you're even better... maybe it's because Mad was so poorly printed on such shitty stock that the details weren't there... anyway... love your work!

I discovered Mort and Wally a little later on, but am extremely flattered by the comparison! Think its got a bit to do with adding a little 'cartoon' to a portrait.
Cheers!

Cheers Ted!
