Description
Flat out like a lizard drinking at the moment, but here's a commercial piece I just finished off. This one caused me all kinds of grief trying to get her looking right sitting on the shield. Her expression is because of the new watermark tattoo I've added to her leg Im sure... someone (thanks Tsuyoshi

From the subtle definition of her rib cage, to the glassy finish of her eyes, to the tarnish of her weaponry...your abilities continue to baffle me.
The say that imitation is the highest form of compliment...so I suppose outright theft would trump that. I think the only way to repay such flattery is a good old fashioned beating. Where's my baseball bat??
LMAO.
Sorry to hear about the thievery...but again I fall to bended knee in admiration of your awesomeness.

Once more your verbal dexterity and hyperbole both amuses and flatters me! As Im sure some famous probably said to someone else "its always a pleasure". Lets just start a rumour that it was Elvis. Yeah thats it. Okay, as Elvis once said, "its always a pleasure"!
Elvis has left the building - goodnight!

TheBandito In reply to Loopydave [2010-02-01 23:01:14 +0000 UTC]
Elvis also said that "hyperbole is the nuclear supernova of all linguistic devices...the epoch-shattering zenith of perfunctory dialectal magnificence".
Well...not really. He just said it was "awholelottafun". I engage in hyperbole to make a point, however.
LMAO.
Of all the folks I've met here on dA, you are by far the most deserving of such rhetoric. Your art is truly sensational, and provides a ton of amazing inspiration and education. And on top of all that, you're a genuinely cool guy. You're not an arrogant ass, you're amazingly accessible, and just easy to chat with. I'm not sure ya realize just how rare and special that is.
Cheers to you, my friend - the climactic pinnacle of all bipeds.

"the climactic pinnacle of all bipeds" - must put that on my next business card!
My best friend and I have this concept of 'waxy kith' - others who also appreciate and enjoy turning a phrase on a dime, a little obfuscation and just generally being lyrically waxy. 'Why use 5 words, when 57 finely crafted ones will do?', as she would say! You sir, are of this ilk, so I call thee 'waxy kith'.
Love your definition of hyperbole btw - do you mind if I use it some time? I promise to quote my source!
Cheers WK

Well, I think your next business card should simply list your title as King and Tyrant. But the CPB does have a nice ring to it. LMAO.
And "Waxy Kith" is a hilarious and equally insightful term. I love it.
I happen to come from an excessively literary family, all of whom often wield rhetoric like a blunt instrument. So overly-inflated language with a dash of self-mockery is just plain my brand of vodka. So nice to have someone that has equal respect for a hugely unnecessary steroid enhanced turn of phrase.
You and I totally need to do some sort of collaboration some day. Together we would be the twin quasars of artistic genius...the apogee of celestial illustrative perfection...the epitome of poetic visual stimuli unleashed.
Well...more like an amazingly talented artist and his slightly retarded man-servant (and before you joke - yes - you are the talented one). But I think the earlier descriptions would attract more positive attention to the project. LMAO.
Thanks OD. Really do dig chatting with ya,
WK (b)

I don't usually fave or download DA work with watermarks, because it really bums me out, but I have to say that with your work, I don't even notice it... The magnificence that is LoopyDave instantly transfers me into a sort of dream state, whee I can only drool, fave, and then drool some more!

Loopydave In reply to yatz [2010-02-01 05:59:56 +0000 UTC]
Lol! Cheers my friend! Little known fact is that I actually have a honking great water mark all over my body in real life and no-one notices that either!
I'd rather not put them on my work, but unfortunately I've had some bad experiences of people stealing my art and calling it theirs - though in this particular case it didnt seem to stop them much!

yatz In reply to Loopydave [2010-02-01 06:15:51 +0000 UTC]
Sadly, Photoshop makes it all to easy to remove a watermark - well, easier than actually painting the original, anyway. This sucks. But - a tiger won't change his stripes, and douches will always be douches (and there also seem to be more of them every day!), so I think it's a matter of learning to live with it - not get too upset about it, because it's bad for your health, and taking action where possible - because, if you don't, the douches have already won!!

A good axe needs heft, doesn't it! I've quietly put my pigbee picture up as a poster, so I will soon try a few more - any particular one in mind? Unfortunately there are some I cant make available, due to reasons with clients etc.
Cheers man, and thanks for coming by!

I say you do a quickie with V-gal here using her accessories (and I don't mean the hoop earrings) on a guy wearing a faux Loopydave T-shirt... or maybe she's holding a huge, red hot watermark branding iron high over her head and... whoa, I'm getting excited.
Yes, it's a problem with no easy answer now... just ask the recording industry or "You Tube". You can only really do what you've done... low-res and watermark everything and if the hi-res original escapes from your client's vault you just have to hope the syntax of the context is incompatible with the motives of the perpetrator... but bikinis always have context...
π: 0 β©: 1
Loopydave In reply to Gladiot [2010-02-01 05:46:06 +0000 UTC]
Indeed bikinis do - its why I always wear one when I go out!
I'd rather not reduce the size of my pictures on dA - I put heaps of detail in my work and I like others to be able to appreciate some of them - so I'll just add the extra watermark and be resigned to the fact that if someone is really determined to do the wrong thing they will.
I like your illustrative reaction concept - pity I'm so busy at the moment, or I'd be tempted to indulge in something like that!
