Panel from an 8 page comic book fable written by my best bud called 'Toby vs Armageddon'.

She's getting a bunch printed on nice stock for the upcoming Supernova Comic Con in Melbourne April 12th-13th, so if you are in the neighbourhood, swing on by the artist alley to the table with the loopydave banner, say hi and check it out!Β

Looks pretty epic to wrap up in 8 pages.. but what the hell do I know.
Seems unlikely I'll be in Melbourne. Β I mean, yeah, the Mother Ship could return, but I doubt I could talk them into swinging by on the way out of the solar system. Β On the other hand, I know this dude, Seth Brundle, who says he has some sort of transporter in the works... if he gets it done in time, I just might make it. Β Otherwise, I'm afraid, I just don't think I can.Β
So, maybe I'll send her that note and see what comes of it. Β Do you think a 'pretty please, with cherry on top' is too much? Β I mean, I'm thinking a good gnawing might be just what I need to jump start my spring, but I don't want to scare her off..

The gorgeous graphic-style color work really works with this.
I love the almost watercolor effect in some areas, and then the stylized smoke.
The whole thing just has such ambiance!

Thanks man! My buddy, the writer, wanted a much looser, fresher kind of feel, which was fun, with the added benefit of it being a much faster way to work!

It totally has that vibe.
I love work done with the watercolor look inside the stylized ink lines.
I'm sure there's a better name for the style.....but I have no idea what it is.
Let's just call it:Β "awesome!"
