This is so cute! I have a love for mermaids myself, and I really like the way you colored this, as well as the background and expression on her face! If I could suggest something you can practice, work hands(yes I know it's not fun XD) and adding details. For hand practice, just use your hand or look up pictures for reference, they always come in handy for odd hand poses! For doing details, this really is optional because I like your art style for it's simplicity! But if you want to do both realistic and cartoony art, having the skill never hurts! If you make more mermaids in the future, experiment with body shape, hair, face, and especially tails! I like the tail you gave your mermaid a lot! Sorry if any of this came off as mean, everything I say you can take at your digression! Just one fellow artist to another, keep up the great work~!

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it! I'm still working on hands, but my goodness are they difficult to get right! xD But it's all about practice so I'm hopeful that I'll get there some day. I wasn't happy with her hand but after tweaking it many times, I decided to just leave it this time.Β
I've made mermaids in the past but have never submitted them here because they never look quite right. I've had a bit of an art block lately and this started as just a sketch to get back on track, but I liked it enough to submit it.
