Good guess, but not quite. Starswirl's horn is straight. The curved horn is a reference to Sombra, and a bit of foreshadowing.

She was trying to help him. What happened to her was not her fault, it was Moondancer's solely.

I'll admit he went off the rails after the absorption happened, but it happened because she decided to keep poking after it was patently obvious that he wasn't going to listen. She kept on going and going until he got so upset that Sombra's horn jumped up and exploited it to absorb her life force into it. (Her problem was, to quote Gene Hackman's character from Mississippi Burning: "You know your problem? You don't know when to speak and when to shut up! That makes you a fool!") Everything afterwards is his fault because he's gone from grief and anger, purely into madness because he's drunk on the power. Even if her absorption was somehow justifiable, it doesn't justify what he did to that poor random schmuck in the forest who never did a thing to Moondancer.

I do love this universe though as it makes it clear that there are genuine reasons for the hardening of people's hearts (Like Blueblood being cold because of his being shut out of his daughter's life by her mother and step-father. (Not to mention the hypocrisy of Fleur-De-lis acting like it was all Blueblood's fault when it was her actions just as much as his that led to the affair that spawned their daughter)) Even if it doesn't justify the actions they make because of it.

Fleur has never been shown acting like the affair was Blueblood's fault. Blueblood has been shown pondering how Fleur justifies her actions, but Blueblood is very much an unreliable narrator. Fleur and Fancy's marriage wouldn't have survived if she hadn't been honest about what happened, and the role she played. Blueblood wasn't even interested in infant Vogue until Fleur encouraged him to interact with her. Much like Moondancer, a fair portion of Blueblood's struggles are self-generated.

Midnight was trying to push him into going home, because she promised Trixie she'd talk to Moondancer if she ever saw him. It was Moondancer than lashed out at her in anger, and that's what triggered Sombra's horn. Moondancer chose to react with rage, he chose to steal her magic. Moondancer's choices cannot be understated, and there is no one to blame for Midnight's accident but him.

I get that. Midnight was trying to push him to go home. My point was when he told her to go away the last time, that's when she should have stopped. She got angry because he basically told her to go pound sand. Everything she said after that was just because she was angry and all of their prior animosity. Personally, I think she only talked to him because Trixie made her promise to. Moondancers actions afterwards are all on him. Up to then, it's not surprised he got angry when she kept needling towards the end when there was nothing else to be done. And Sombra's horn suddenly coming to life was unexpected by everybody so there's no real accounting for that.
