pretty much changed her last one because she looked too much like Zipperflash, and also not quite enough like her parents
i think that giving her a white pelt helps her look deceptively innocent~
until those mandibles come out, that is
Irie is pretty creepy (hence her nickname "Eerie"), but hides it way better than Artemis. She's pretty cordial and sociable and ponies typically find her quite warm and inviting. Part of this is due to her changeling magic that imbues her with a sort of natural magnetism. This makes it pretty easy for Irie to pick out new, favorite playthings ponies to mess with

Yes, her design Looks nice and really fits her when it comes to the sentence below: beautiful but dangerous.
But I have to say that I liked her first design more.
You are right that she doesn't really looked like her parents and more like Zipperflash, but I liked that,
because no I think she looked more like Celestia if she where a QueenΒ like Chrysalis.
Back then she was more individuall and children don't have to look like there paretns all the time
maybe she looks like a mix of two of her ancestors - who knows?
Like I said, she Looks nice, but to much like Celestia in changling-form.
Still, you have a great style ^^

Pandora: Sort of embraced her "weirdness" even though deep down she wishes her coronation would've worked (or at least that the ponies would've accepted her as she was)

Artemis: doesn't exactly care about embracing themselves or not and isn't seen much
Eerie: Has absolutely embraced who she is and her weirdness and even toys around with it.

What if Eerie was her brown and gold colour scheme at first but, being a bug, she had like a Cicada "breaking out of a molt" type of moment thing and this is her new more "mature" colour scheme?
Because Cicadas are awesome.

I have to admit I'm actually glad you re-colored her. The first colorization looked a lot how I pictured my changeling OC Honeycomb and I was afraid folks would say I stole the design from you. And I agree; the white pelt makes her look more like Celestia's child and more innocent.

I did like the kintsugi aspect of Eerie's original design, but I think that this color scheme is more befitting of a Chryslestia daughter. She looks lovely...!

Gah, what to do... I really liked the color pallet of the original scheme, but I always really like the redesign's colors, too. I almost thought that maybe Eerie changed her coloration magically/with a whole crapload of dyes in order to appear more princessly and agreeable to the skittish pony masses.
But a retcon works too
