pretty much changed her last one because she looked too much like Zipperflash, and also not quite enough like her parents
i think that giving her a white pelt helps her look deceptively innocent~
until those mandibles come out, that is
Irie is pretty creepy (hence her nickname "Eerie"), but hides it way better than Artemis. She's pretty cordial and sociable and ponies typically find her quite warm and inviting. Part of this is due to her changeling magic that imbues her with a sort of natural magnetism. This makes it pretty easy for Irie to pick out new, favorite playthings ponies to mess with

Meh, personally I like her original design better⦠but this is an interesting one as well⦠personally I like to think that this may be a subconsciously created form for herself when she's around more nobles and "judgmental" ponies, and will usually revert to her default (brown) form when around friends or starved for love.

Yeah I honestly think this color fits her and her name much better. The white coat definitely gives her a nice air of false innocence.

Aw, I liked the brown/gold color scheme. This one's fine though. It does indeed make her look more like Chrysalis-Celestia offspring. Really want to see more of her.

Maybe she can change to either form depending on her mood. I love her old hair style the most but I love the new colors. UGGH It's so hard to decide!! LOL So why not both? If she's in a good/ good girl mood she is looks like the new one. When she's upset/ angry/ or being bad she shifts to the old look.....just a thought.... It would suit her name, since Iridescence means to change color...*walks away whistling*

Maybe you can use this as an explanation why she looks different now (well i do^^):
This is Eeries final form. Since she is half "bug", thanks to her mother Chrystalis, she needs to skin when she get older and bigger.
Her brown/gold appearance, which she had in her childhood and her teenage years, made her look fierce and mysterious.
After she skinned herself for the last time, her appearance changed dramaticly. She now looks alot like her mother Celestia.
This is my idea for her redesign, which i really like.

I admit to liking the old design. But this one does a better job at telling you who mom #2 is. I think I like them about equal.

I'm sorry. But i dislike the new design. She does not look like the daughter of Celestia and Chrysalis any more. Her brown coat gave her the appearance of Chrysalis. And the gold stripes and silver mane gave her the royal and innocent appearance of Celestia. She only looks like a snow changeling now. Maybe if Elsa and a changeling got a foal. She doesn't look like her parents at al with that design. I'm sorry. I will respect her new design because it's your character. But I will always miss the old design and the new one will never grow on me. I hope that you didn't get offended. She IS beautiful. It's just that she doesn't look like her parents any more. I hope that you have a wonderful day!

I think you should give her some Chrysalis flair, she's mostly a bug version of Celestia right now. Maybe add green hair or black skin/fur.

Hmm. I must admit I'm a bit torn on the redesign. On the one hand, the white colouring does give her that veneer of innocence, though she wears it like a suit. Her little smile and half lowered lids make her look wonderfully mischievous while also giving her a sort of mild amused look, as if she never really smiles but allows herself a little smirk when things go her way. The more crystalline look to her hair and eyeshadow makes on think of mirrors (fittingly), but mainly it brings out the rest of her more blank colours very nicely. She seems to take more after Celestia in this incarnation, which is ironic given that the description of her personality seems more in line with Chrysalis. I imagine she proves a bit of a concern for her mother, because though doubtless she plays the innocence, there is something notably cold and unnerving about her. Something that makes you wonder what she'll do. The inclusion of the little decorative stone around her horn is a nice touch, like paying homage to her royal status.
But her old colouring had a certain flair to it as well. The more earthy colours gave her more of an insectoid appearance, with the gold reminiscent of honey, and her pink hair something almost bubbly, although its straightness belied it. It also made her creepiness seem a bit more innocent and playful somehow. Perhaps because it looked less like she was hiding something, her new pale complexion looking like she's masking her true nature, which is not totally inaccurate. To put it simply, the former seemed to pay more homage to Chrysalis, the latter Celestia. Overall, I have to say I still prefer the old one, but I'm sure the new will grow on me eventually.
Either way, I love this. She has that vaguely sinister look about her but you can never be sure, and meeting her, no doubt you would like to think of the best. I suspect she's a lot like Pandora now, but perhaps with a bit more of a cruel turn.

Mostly I use Paint Tool Sai, and sometimes Photoshop for tricks like transparent files, isolating lineart, etc. This is a ballpoint pen drawing that was cleaned and colored in Sai.

Before she looked like a changeling Chrysalis/Celestia daughter, now she looks like a Celestia daughter with a weird horn.
If that is what you were going for, job well done.

Oh idea time , what if you make eeries old design her commoner/basic disguise she uses if she doesn't want to be seen , I mean celestias and chrysalises marriage probably brought undisguised changelings into pony society so if some one saw her in her normal disguise they would think ,, huh just a changeling'' , of course I do feel like for this idea to work eeries old designs color palette needs to be darkened a lot so her hair and golden parts don't poke out , also her size if not her body then her horn cause that sucka can pierce the heavens , but that's my idea goodday
