While I do enjoy this version of moony I don't think we should forget the battles and the origin story line you created for him. I mean if he isn't the one to challenge pandora who will? I think instead of taking away villain Moondancer entirely you could incorporate some elements of that plot (but downplay it) and ultimately end up with this plot. It breaks my heart to see Moony end up as a villain );
