some notes on earth ponies, the oft under-appreciated third of ponykind
Earth ponies are the strongest and hardiest of all ponies. They are the most widespread, found in every corner of Equestria, from Appleoosa to the Crystal Empire. They are the most traditional ponies, clinging stubbornly to their ideas of hospitality, honesty, and humility. They may be the doofiest little ponies of all.

Well, it's not so much I'm creative enough to constantly be making new headcanons, but rather I've had like nine years of show to make and compile headcanons. I've got a few google docs with hundreds (maybe even thousands?) of headcanons, and I'm only just now drawing most of them. Also, keeps feeding me fresh ideas like a drug dealer, blame her. >O

In Greek mythology, apples were the symbol of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. AJ presenting the fruit of her labor (no pun intended) to Rarity, along with that knowledge, makes me smile.

That reminded me of Pinkie's Episode from Early Seasons (2 or 3 was it ?).
Basically:
Everypony: "It's a beautiful and sunny day !"
Pinkie: "It's gonna rain in a minute."
Everypony: "Pinkie stop joking."
Weather: [rains immediately]

This brought the running of the leaves back to mind all he way from season 1! Even tho they say it's a tradition to get the autumn leaves fall by trembling the ground, could it be that it originally had something to do with the earths pones' role of shape nature to the seasons

omg this is my favorite one now. I loved the pegasus. Was super addicted to the unicorn. But the earth pony is hands down my FAV sheet. I love the colors for Treehuggers Aura sense, and the illustrations are just so beautiful. Apple Blooms magic hoof depiction is also gorgeous. (Cupcake, stahp, I can't. lololol)

Hm, Treehugger used to do a lot of drugs (I headcanon she was stoned af when she interacted with Discord in her debut episode), but eased up as she entered middle age. Now she just gets high on life. She never loses her stoner drawl though, unless she's being very serious.

You develop some nice head canon here. I particularly like the fact Pinkie is chaos aligned. That makes a lot of sense ^^
In the past I head canon earth ponies were able to detect and manipulate "life flux" (call you as you wish). They were able to harvest but were also very good medics because of this. The best actually. I think it could sound like a good opportunity to make them something more than just "peasant" for the royal scientist unicorns and wariors/ knight pegasi.

As a darker thought, Tree Hugger's ability to see and possibly manipulate auras could be devastating if used offensively. Imagine just scrambling that aura to destabilize it, or induce catatonic ennui. or snuffing it out entirely. Would that basically be having your soul punched out of your body?
This is why we should all be glad she's so mellow.
