Description
Was getting a little bogged down by all the unfinished pieces stuck in lineart / colour hell, so I took an afternoon off to do a little colouring practice on Beyra, my crazy old Sangheili (Covenant Elite) character who I've not drawn in forever. Literally years, but then I've kinda fallen out of sorts with Halo and the universe in general outside of the books (And Halo Wars 2, that was super fun. Can't wait for Flood DLC later this year), so haven't had a whole lot of motivation to draw anything of it.Probably going to move this to scraps later, just needed something to experiment on as far as shading and unusual light sources go (Hence the pointy glowstick of death)
So yeah. There's that.

I've always leant towards keeping my character designs the "Bungie" way, Halo 2 and 3 in particular. That's not to say I entirely dislike the Halo 4/5 Elites, I've got a drawing of that style that I haven't uploaded yet. But I just like the old look more in general.

I draw them mixed into the same universe. Even mixed from games with different versions of the unofficial elite races. Don't do that with other species though.

Well whatever works best for you. Art's not about canonical accuracy, it's about expressing yourself and applying what principles or design choices you think work best.

Yeah. You're right. Though I have to say I'm trying to keep it canon myself. So I'll be using assets from the games only. And limit some thing from games like Reach because they had a temporary artist. I for example wouldn't use their brutes because I don't like their design, and no Halo CE jackals either. But I'd think of a way to get that cool elite armor. That's also why I can't show anything like an elite without armor because there's not an official body for every version let alone female.
