Description

Edit: finished with the background details, hopefully it's easier to see now

Hey everyone, this is a bit off the main theme of ships and whatnot, but I really wanted to at least post SOMETHING for today. So, this was a scene that I drew up around the ever-so-memable 3:00 AM while re-listening to the audio of Primordium. It features a Forerunner incursion on what seems to be a random planet in a nation of near-humans. I imagined that this would be one of innumerable worlds populated by the descendents of the survivors of the previous lost/fallen human civilizations which fell during the various technological dark ages since Ancient Humanity’s first forays into interstellar travel before 1,108,000 BCE. In a similar vein to the Age of Strife in Warhammer 40K, the survivors of the Lost Civilizations of the Dark Ages would have undergone cataclysm or mysterious demise, and handed it with varying degrees of success and regression. They would have withered away or adapted to their environments, and diverge from their original forms to a degree. The species of people in this planet being invaded by a Forerunner local control force (the guys who would have used Guardian constructs and stuff to suppress and regress lesser civilizations from growing into annoyances or even threats to the Ecumene’s control over that area later down the line) are those who have outwardly-maintained a form similar to their human ancestors, but with a greater degree of internal modification. They are a Monarchy with some elements of republicanism and Meritocracy and have achieved a high-level tier-3 society. Their technology surpasses that of the far-future 26th-century CE Covenant in several fields but they have not left their home system as of yet.

As for the reason why there is a Forerunner in the Legends Isodidact’s garb wielding a katana, I’ll leave that up for interpretation. It’s not like as a Forerunner, the particular warrior-servant in the image had any reason not to, perhaps he reasoned it to be the most-appropriate way of showing the supremacy and worthiness of the Forerunners to these lower beings by besting them at their own arts.

They're weaker than the Covenant on the ground, but better in space combat (look at an anime called Legend of the Galactic Heroes for how the combat would look like)

True, well, they made the best use of the limited technology that they had, which is what makes them so admirable when facing the Covenant.

Yes. The impressive thing about the Infinity is that the engines are partially-Forerunner-made, using Forerunner ruins strapped over with UNSC tech. The Infinity also was originally meant to have a sister ship called the Eternity, meaning that they figured enough out about the Forerunners to replicate one of their engines.

I guess so, it is the most-advanced and most-expensive ship in the entire post-war fleet

Thanks! It tool a lot of work, I'm not used to doing non-mechanical things.

Wow, that suit she’s wearing would fit right in Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I love how ornate and luxurious it looks.

I had not thought of that but you are absolutely right. If she was an Imperial Admiral, it would be in the post-Alliance era, where they changed the uniforms to be more-ornate.

Considering that their ships are essentially German Azur Lane ships with Battlestar engines and flight pods (and about the same size), they could have fleet sizes almost as large as typical LOGH fleets.

Very interesting, I like this, I like the new Waifu, I like the architecture, and I love the ships out the window, great work.

Thanks! I really wanted to properly edit it but I wanted to post something yesterday. I'll try to get it properly-edited today.
