you know, after the disappointment that is Fate Apocrypha and sadly short lived and rushed pacing of Fate Extra Last Encore I really need an actual Fate anime that knows what it's doing and how to handle it's story in anime adaption.

Granted we have 2 green lit for 2019 which are based on Fate Grand Order where my main criticism on that before it even aired is "WHY ARE YOU AIRING THESE 2 STORIES BACKWARDS!?" I get trying to do what was voted popular but that only works if these were 2 different spin offs. this is literally the same story where Babylonia and Camelot are the 2 chapters that are next to each other! Camelot happens before Baylonia. if the idea is to set up suspense for new comers and update enough of the stories for those of us who play the game every day to make the story compelling this is the wrong way to do it cause you already give away the fact the characters survived the previous ordeal that you're gonna animate later and also give away Mash already upgrade and found the true name of her noble phantasm and it's not like you can spend the entire babylonia season not using it! that being said that is likely going to be my main criticism even after it airs.

but aside from those 2 the one actual fate I wanna see animated is prototype. now according to many sources this is the story Nasu himself wanted to tell before having to change it to make Waifu king arthur and make an eroge out of it. Protoype from what small animated sample and bits of I have heard of what he wanted it to be probably has the darkest story in the entire fate franchise. i mean hell the fragment novel of Prototype looks and sounds really promising where you got King Arthur as saber. I do mean Arthur and not Waifu Arthur aka Artoria, Arash as Archer so you can have the fans yell "STELLA!!!!" XD, Pharaoh Ozymandias who's basically the egyptian version of Gilgamesh in the fate series as Rider, Jekyll and mister Hyde as berserker, Brynhildr as Lancer, and the famed alchemist whose name slips my mind but starts with a P as Caster, and Hassan of Serenity as Assassin. now this here has a lot of good potential set up to tell a compelling story. Now I'm not saying it's automatically good I'm just it has the potential to be good if handled right since apocrypha had potential with what it was doing till you saw or read how much of a mess that was.

why am I saying this? well it's cause whether you noticed it or not other than the success fate stay night is still having and believe it or not fate kaleide prisma illya, yeah the loli focused magical girl story of a fate spin off has more success than apocrypha or last encore did are doing well so what is it about apocrypha and last encore that dropped the ball and even led to some divides on whether or not these 2 spin offs were any good? to answer that I'd have to go over both of them separately but I will say apocrypha crammed too much in for a short lived story and last encore made the assumption it was gonna be longer than they thought and were kind of forced to end it early which made them rush the pacing and not really giving you time to know what's going on.

so if the 2 grand order anime of babylonia and camelot actually do well maybe we'll see prototype and hopefully handled with actual care in the same way Zero and Unlimited Blade works got. so to you fate fans out there other than babylonia and camelot what fate story do you wish to see animated? or if not an already existing spin what kind of fate story do you wanna see and what servants do you want to have spot lights in a grail war?
