Description Itsuki: Obviously we live together. We're sisters.

Ichika: Quintuplets to be more exact.

Yotsuba: Yep! That's us!

Nino: So the stalker is actually the tutor mom and dad hired?

Miku: He did follow us like a stalker.

And though all will fall in love with the protagonist, only one will marry in the end.

Most likely itsuki since this has that obvious trope set up but there's a chance it could be miku given how popular she got in just 3 episodes alone.

True. She is the first to fall in love with Fuutarou when she found out his genuine efforts to teach her. Then we have Ichika who later fell for him and then Nino who acted like a brat at first, but eventually fell for him as well. Considering that Yotsuba is the "dumbest" I'm not sure when she'll do so as well.

Yeah and fuutarou is not the kind of protagonist I usually follow mostly cause I don't really relate to him since his personality and fictional issues are more relatable from a Japanese stand point.

The romance is predictable to where I do wish these authors think about other kinds of romance that exist in the world and focus on the development before putting romance in these things which is oddly why other over the top harem series for all their rainchiness are more memorable to people

Yeah that's true, considering that Fuutarou is being presented as a typical Japanese young man who focuses primarily on his grades and studies as well as getting a few part time jobs in order to help provide for his family since they're relatively poor. So, of course there are fans who can't really relate to him, but can understand or sympathize with his struggles.

While we know the romance seems pretty obvious, I suppose its more about the protagonist understanding the feelings of others especially his five students knowing that despite being quintuplets, each of them are unique and have their own personal struggles. Many harem based series are most there to present perverts in a fanservice-like situation, being ecchi, comical and just plain unrealistic.

I think it's pretty unrealistic for parents to hire a boy the same age as their daughters over a professional educator since I think we've had more success on this kind of story when the one teaching them is an educator with their own kind of struggles

I suppose, though it seems this series is trying to focus more on the concept of relationships, development and buildup. I guess its possible that ItsukiΒ  will be the one who marries Fuutarou in the end, though we still don't know for sure since the quintuplets often change their hairstyles to match one of the other.

Call it experience but the story has a lot of the tropes that lead to where I can tell where a lot of this will end up at and again the whole flash forward if his wedding already takes out 2 of them not to mention mitsuki and ichika have certain body sizes that don't match up with who he marries. In real life these numbers change as they get older but because this is anime they either stay the same or just get bigger sizes. Not to mention the shade of the hair color gives away more to itsuki with miku being a 2md guess

I see. Makes sense, though I can't help but think of the possibility that the quintuplets could also simply dye their hair again to match up as well as considering the time skip that the ones with short hair can let their hair grow to the same length. Also there is the even more unrealistic scenario in which Fuutarou marries all five sisters, but I know that's not an option.

Could but most cases especiaallybin Japan show most will keep their hair short due to how kids easily pull on it

I see. Its still strange that most harem anime usually ends with the protagonist ending up with all the girls or none of them personally, just continuing their usual ecchi escapades. This series on the other hand seems to be one of the harem romance stories in which the protagonist ends up with one of the girls.

Well they can't really go the harem route even though they do come from big money to live in their own apartment.

Well, it was more of a rebellious act towards their father and a way to get closer to Fuutarou without being restricted from doing what they want. And apparently what the quintuplets wanted was to make it up to Fuutarou for putting him through a lot with their issues and ongoing struggles. And so far, Miku, Ichika and Nino fell in love with him, with Itsuki slowly developing feelings while Yotsuba is still unaware. Nino is the first and right now only one to confess to him directly, while Miku and Ichika intended to confess.

Yeah kind of feel like you can do the story wothout needing to make romance a forefront focus at the beginning especially if since this looks like a series trying to go for that long running status.

Well, we'll see how for the manga goes, but given the series recent popularity with the release of the anime, I think it may last a while.

I don't know if it'll boost it that high since this anime is trying to run itself like it's gonna do all of the content on the first go when 2 other harem genres end up beating it out since people find more amusement from the other 2 currently airing as harem which are date a live and reincarnated as a slime cause those take a bit more chance in being more out there and over the top which is why a slight boost to manga sales is likely but ultimately it loses out to 2 light novel anime cause it goes in a few further directions where the main thing keeping this up for a overseas audience are the 5 sisters since that's all I see people post about on Twitter and tumblr and even bybjaoanese market standards it's likely they watch for the 5 sisters than needing to be reminded they're pretty much fuutarou everyday of their lives minus the lucky break he gets.

I suppose that's true, the hype about Date a Live and Reincarnated as a Slime are still too odd some viewers because its over the top silliness. Maybe its just me, but I'm willing to give the series a chance and see where it goes.

Like many other anime that comes out, they never last that long.

LordCamelot2018 In reply to MCN51FJ [2019-01-31 06:19:39 +0000 UTC]

actually most do last long it's just no one bothers to tell these companies that half of those most overstayed themselves to really be anything nostalgic and are obvious cash grabs where rarely do they do much to be amazing these days.

MCN51FJ In reply to LordCamelot2018 [2019-01-31 06:32:25 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, because nowadays anime series don't last as long as their manga counterparts and are usually presented to see how overseas viewers think of them and to get them read the manga if they wish to learn more. Only so few manga series become so popular that they last over a decade.

which is good but then you have the ones you just want to end already. such as why is berserk and detective conan still going? why the hell are we letting a sequel to naruto happen instead of taking a break like dragon ball to give everyone a break after 15 plus years of voice acting.Β

I don't know either. Perhaps they're being hasty about it. Boruto is not as popular as Naruto or Shippuden, but many fans are still keeping up to date with it. But yeah, in all honesty the VAs and animators should all to take from Boruto. I can't say much about Berserk or Detective Conan, but I'm guessing that they're huge in Japan, so that's why they're ongoing and I guess the same can be said about One Piece.

LordCamelot2018 In reply to MCN51FJ [2019-01-31 08:46:23 +0000 UTC]

they literally made boruto less than a year after naruto ended as a cash grab project then made the anime when the manga barely went 12 chapters. that's a whole year since the chapters are monthly. now they're making the excuse the anime filler stuff is canon even though nothing about the 2 mediums ever tie in together in a way that affects the characters or how they go about their business.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MCN51FJ In reply to LordCamelot2018 [2019-01-31 16:12:54 +0000 UTC]

True, I guess that's why some don't bother watching Boruto because it was too hasty and that anime was moving faster than the manga only due to the how Naruto Shippuden ended. And all these anime fillers are really unnecessary especially when they don't make any sense. I can only assume that its competition with One Piece as as a long running shounen anime or trying to be like Dragon Ball; turn it into a meta-series.
