I love the look of the sails. The general design of the ships is interesting. I'm getting a Chinese vibe from it. I think it's from the style of the lions and superstructure. I'm also intrigued about the harpoon guns. It looks like there are thick cables attached to them, but also some large canisters. Are they for capturing ships for boarding? Are the canisters mines that are shot out and dropped or line-cast in the way of pursuing ships?

Chinese Vessels were inspiration for the sails, though we departed quite far from that over the course of making this. The decoration, including the lion (though a lot bigger than from its source) are primarily inspired by Renaissance/Baroque European architecture
This is from a pirate nation - the harpoons should attach to enemy ships to reel them in, so the boarding bridges can be extended and the prey boarded

Yeah, Blender is really tough to get into - took me a while to get a hang of things. But it was worth it in the end and there's still plenty room for me to learn or improve upon!

Stunning work, I saw this and thought immediately of solar sails!

This looks... DREAMY, in lack of a better word.
The ships look like they were once proud and lovingly decorated, but left to decay, dirt and rust while the sails still are pretty.
Because of this we get a weird, fascinating contrast of ugly and beautiful.
With the clouds in the background and the sunlight comming from a low angle, this is a picture almost like out of a dream.
