Mascot does seem to be a good word for her. She may be the wisest of Vicky's slaves but she also seems to be the least willful. You can rely on Noelle and Jonathan when the heat is on, but Caley seems more of the type to remain on the sidelines.Β

I guess you're right. We haven't seen these people in a wide enough cross sections of crisis situations to know the full range of their reactions, she did show a bit of willful action this chapter. I guess my assessment was based on the fact that she seems to be the most easygoing of the three but I guess it's not really fair to translate that into overall passiveness. I guess what I meant to say is that she seems like the least likely of the three to show an interest in assisting Vicky in day-to-day politics. She cares deeply about her family, to the point of fighting for them, this is true, I guess she just strikes me as so much less concerned with the status of being a sex demon compared to Noelle, or generally chivalrous like Jonathan, to appear as a political agent. Maybe Vicky will just make up a new honorary title for her. She's the queen, who says she only gets two favorites?Β

That makes me wonder, is there any particular shame in hell-culture for a potential usurper to be beaten up by one of the Queen's submissives? A normal dom should not have their sub attack any one, including another dom. The point of the 4th kingdom was to do away with war and conflict, and settle things through technique and duels. So the instance would not occur.

However to address your second question. The Queenβs subs are held in extremely high regard, especially if they are the right and left hand. Though they may be subs to the queen, the right and left are treated with respect. Hence why other doms will respect Noelle (and refer to her as Miss Noelle) despite being a sub to Victoria.

Β I hate to go on another one of those pedantic universe-question rampages, but if Jonathan is a sub rather than a switch like Noelle, but he is a hand like Noelle, to what extent is Vicky able to delegate/deputize him to act on her behalf in political matters. Noelle was able to order Circe to let Jonathan go on Vicky's authority, for example. Is that something that a purely sub-hand could also do provided they were able to prove that their owner had delegated that function to them, or is that a breach of infernal protocol?Β
