xD kinda the point of the "course Camarguaise" : you annoy the bull and you force it chase you x)

then you can showing of running everywhere and jump behind some wooden-stuff.

xD true, when i saw one for the first time i was pretty young and imagined they were eventually going to die ^^'

later, i saw actual corrida, and i have to say the course camarguaise is soooo much more peaceful x)
i guess it's a way to feel alive, and this sort of stuff ^^

And more awesome!
Corridas are horrible for that poor bulls...
With the course camarguaise the guys have their oportunities to feel alive and the bull have his opportunity to try to kick an ass XD

xD completely.
and i like the way of bulls beeing "stars", more than men in that game ^^
but i guess they would rather like staying quietly in their fields..
Camargue is so beautiful x)

yeah
it's pure logic, I mean these poor animals are really pacific and stupid people make them look like beasts...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Asahi-sensei In reply to MySweetQueen-Dolls [2013-05-27 20:33:29 +0000 UTC]

yeah...
i think that when we're chasing a moskito or a wasp we must look like sort of beasts too.
and what are we, but moskitos in front of a bull ? ^^''
they are strong, and fast, but peaceful if you don't annoy them. (but i remind that they are pretty touchy at that age, as they take young bulls...)

still, that kind of course is waaaaay more pacific than corrida. at least no blood pours.

I was watching these, too! Was there a guy running named Pinter? Or a guy named Fauvre with a tight fitting shirt? It was really fun watching these guys jumping from one corner to the other.

Great shot, capturing what stunts those crazy dudes do.

Good picture, because it shows the stupid human losing the fight he started for stupid reasons.
Hope he learned a lesson.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

LordGuardian In reply to hoshitsu [2013-06-04 11:35:28 +0000 UTC]

Actually they are not fighting at all ...that's why this 'sport' is called Course, which is french for run or race. The human participants don't fight the bull (and don't try to kill it) they merely try to outwit and outrun it to catch some trophies attached to the bulls horns.

hoshitsu In reply to LordGuardian [2013-06-04 13:54:54 +0000 UTC]

Still stress for the animal

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LordGuardian In reply to hoshitsu [2013-08-15 12:24:40 +0000 UTC]

Yes it is some stress, although possibly not more stress than animals have in any competitive sports (horse/dog races or contests etc etc) . Like i said many times before, the game exploits the natural aggressiveness of the bull, it's tendency to charged at anyone entering it's territory. Those are dangerous animals and they would just as well kill you if you came across them in nature...

the negativeness directed to my picture makes me a bit sad. Of course i understand people's reactions to some extend. But I think it's due to the fact that they associate this with bullfighting in the traditional sense of the word, and all the negativity associated to it. No one would probably say something bad if it were a picture of a horse jumping contest, because there is just no such bad press linked to it. At the same time it causes just as much stress to the animal (carrying the weight of a person, jumping over high obstacles under time constraints etc). The horse is forced to do something that it would not naturally do by itself, but the sport exploits the natural affinity of horses to run and jump. Accidents happen there too, horses are put to rest regularly as they break bones (horselegs tend to heal very badly or very slowly...)

Sorry, this was just an example ...it just wanted to get my point across that sometimes it is very difficult to draw a clear line

And how do you know the story behind the picture when the author hasn't said anything yet?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

MySweetQueen-Dolls In reply to HostileCobalt [2013-05-27 20:03:03 +0000 UTC]

I'm not talking about this picture, I'm talking about animal abuse in general
but if that guy didn't annoy the poor bull he wouldn't be running after him, I don't need to know "the story", is the same as always

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

HostileCobalt In reply to MySweetQueen-Dolls [2013-05-27 20:07:37 +0000 UTC]

The first comment was "wow i hope the bull got him" and you agreed. So, yeah, you were talking about the picture.

What if the guy was feeding him, accidentally dropped something that made a loud sound and scared the bull, causing it to chase the man?

if he enjoys annoying animals, then i'd be more than happy if the animal decided to attack him

It's amazing how you made this conclusion and stated them as facts. Don't assume before knowing the whole story. I'm not saying that that may not be true, but don't get bent out of shape and hoping someone would get hurt when you don't even know the full story.

"when you annoy an animal sometimes you get what you deserve"
"And how do you know the story behind the picture when the author hasn't said anything yet?" (still talking about the guy)
"here's a guy dressed in the typical clothes of this kind of events
he is there running in front of a bull because he ennjoys it (etc etc)"

we were talking about the guy, and i showed you proofs
