and to clarify things a little, this is no Corrida/Bullfight, the Bulls are neither killed nor hurt in the process

i'm not really sure why they brought up the "wild bulls get annoyed too" (i mean of course they do, they have to protect the herd and holy shit do they have testosterone)
i mean, they have sharp horns, i think we all know that they are going to use them and that they are made for using them, but i am talking about this particular bull (and all the other bulls used for entertainment)

i think bulls used for.. 'sports' like that are bred to be aggressive by nature so there's less need to annoy them?
...though, you could call breeding them so that they make their young even more aggressive is in a way annoying them..

they are aggressive, sure, but if you keep a distance, respect them and they are having a good day, then there's no problem
of course, they are herbivores and have to defend from predators, so no doubt they are going to chase you until they feel safe,but to be honest that has never happened to me
i can't really find the videos now, but if you go to youtube you can find videos of the herders feeding the bulls by hand (bullfighting fulls), and being around them without any problem
you can have a really good relationship with them

yeah, i know that, but say... some dogs bred for dog fighting were bred to have a bad personality (along with the qualities such as strong jaws). same would go with bulls as well, no? at least with some breeders.
do you know if they still drug and 'blind' the bulls before bullfights (to make them aggressive and defensive/frightened)?
or is training bulls to act aggressively in certain situations getting more common e e

ah sure they breed the most aggresive bulls! Sometimes, if they think that a bull has "fought" real well, then they don't kill him that day and breed him (or kill him but already have frozen sperm so they breed him anyways)
and i'm pretty sure they still do it. i can't tell for sure thought! but i don't see why they wouldn't do it.
what they really do and i'm 120% sure about (because you can see it anywhere, even youtube) is that they "train" them to be aggressive

The sharpness comes with the fast shutter speeds possible in bright sunlight, and of course a decent lens (70-200 f2.8)

he will not be killed in a bullfight, as he is already grown up, and this is an entirely different breed of bulls that are not used in bullfights

I don't know, maybe, but that is very difficult to judge. The game is merely exploiting the natural aggressiveness of the animal and his will to charge at anything that penetrates his territory. In that regard it's not harming the animal more than people keeping pets like cats in small flats or riding a horse to exhaustion ...
I repeat myself, i am definitely against animal abuse and i visited this event a neutral observer (and to take photos of course) ...it is very difficult to trace the line between what is ok and what not at a certain point. There is no permanent or imminent harm done to the animal in this game. If you forbid things like this, you kill a century old tradition and at the same time other practices that are considered normal (like keeping pets, farming or any kind of animal sport) would have to be forbidden too as they rob the animals of their freedom for the pleasure of humans in one way or another.
I'm a little bit sad about how aggressive and vocal people got about my picture, when most did clearly not know what it was actually about. This is not directed towards you, I'm just speaking out what is on my mind.

Well, I'd certainly like to research the sport more once I get the actual name of it. From a picture alone, I don't know if the bull just scraped his nose on the ground/fence, or if it was man-caused. I also don't know why the bull is angry- as others have mentioned, some bulls are just naturally angry animals, and will happily chase anyone away, antagonized or not. So I can't say if the animal is actually being harmed or not.
It'd be a shame if the bull was killed in a bullfight. Alas, bulls really don't have many good options. They can be killed for meat, they can be killed at birth, or they can be killed in games. >.< It's very very rare that anyone needs a bull, and it's a huge shame.

Well i can clarify one thing here. This is a Spanish tradition called the running of the bulls and i do believe it either ends or starts with a bull fight (so somewhere in the tradition it happens). And these bulls are riled up to chase these people in a gated area. Another reason i know its the running of the bulls is that the man in the photo is wearing all white. Thats a traditional thing to do during this event. And bull fights are not illegal in Spain either so it can be assumed if this bull was not in one yet it might very well be in one later. So...idk take it how ever you like but that is whats most likely taking place here in this specific photo as not a lot of people allow themselves to be in range of an angry bull except runners in the running of the bulls and bull fighters or those cowboys that rope cows that i have ever heard of...sooo yup the more you know ^w^b. Yeah, they are awesome animals, have been around them since i was a kid, fortunately they were "pet" bulls and cows so they weren't killed

I love cattle too, and bulls can be wonderful pets.
Those videos don't make it look too terrible, at least when compared to other bull-related games. The bull is clearly agitated and upset, but they're not crowding it and attacking or taunting, which is better than nothing. Certainly better than that last link, which is clearly cruelty. Limiting the bull's movement and taunting it in mass is totally not okay. At least in the more official game, people weren't running at it and yelling, they were being pretty quiet and just running the opposite direction.
That's not the say it's totally okay! I still don't like that it involves a bull at all, if it's going to involve making it annoyed. But, at the very least, it's only annoyed, and not terrified. I'd much rather it's agitated than bleeding out and fighting for its life.

and don't worry, this is no bullfight where the bull is killed. It is a tradition called 'Course' where the human participants need to catch trophies attached to the bulls horns. The animal is not harmed in the game
