Description
Because no one but me knows what the land is like. It's not done by any means. I'm always changing it around, adding new things, taking things off, changing names...etc.
Be sure to ask me any questions you might have about it! I love talking about this place.
*EDIT VII*It's been a while, but I have another edit for the map! Added on a few more names, including the bay area of Sindasil which I've been meaning to. Added the Dunes of Farnel to the east and the Ruins of Lestonia to the west.
*EDIT VI*Named Feran Adeth, and changed volcano in the north to a mountain.
*EDIT V*Named several rivers and the Hunters' wood.
*EDIT IV*Will they ever end? No, I doubt it. More trees now, and I upped the contrast.
*EDIT III*Added in a few more things, notably a smaller island to the east of Lytherian's mainland.
*EDIT II*Okay, updated the map again, because I've been working on it. Added and changed a few things around and such. Redid some of the colors too. Now you can actually see them.
Also changed the name, because, despite my laziness, the world is not called Aldruin. It thus far has no name, and so, it can only go by the Four Kingdoms as of yet.
*EDIT* Okay, so here is the better description I promised. The land is thus far known only as The Land of the Four Kingdoms or simply The Four Kingdoms. These Kingdoms are Aldruin, Valorence, Idla Sutra, and the Lands of the Elves.
Aldruin was the first official Kingdom created, and acts as a capital for all the Four Kingdoms. Most of the Kings of Aldruin have tried to keep a loose alliance formed amongst the Four Kingdoms. During the reign of the Dragon King Padraig, an alliance was formed with what remained of the Dragons, and they were allowed free range of Aldruin and Valorence. In return, rare knights are promoted to Dragon Riders. The eastern coast and the western plateau have changed hands between men, dwarves, and drwg many many times. Caer Aldruin acts as the political meeting ground and trade center of the Four Kingdoms.
The Gildaith Territory to the south technically belongs to Aldruin as a province, but it is so far cut off that it basically functions as its own Kingdom, and thrives off of port towns, inland transportation, and ship repair. It is from here that trade with the southern islands, Idlas Frad, commences.
To the north is Valorence. Valorence, though not as politcally or militarily powerful as Aldruin, is rich in resources, and is the most technologically advanced. They also have rare materials such as paper and silk. Their capital is at the northernmost point of the main continent, at a point called Starhaven.
Knalad Kum, or The Dwarf Home, is the home of a majority of the stone-dwelling dwarves. It has not been officially in the hands of the dwarves for centuries, but they are given all the land they require, and are allowed to do mostly whatever they want. Valuable metals and stones are mined here. Most of the land here is dry and infertile, so the ore is traded for food and seed for the few farmable areas.
The Hunters are not politically recognized as being landowners, although the deepest sections of the forests of both Valorence and Aldruin, as well as Hunter's Peak and the surrounding foothills, are undisputedly in possession of the Hunters. Their only permanent residence is in the (currently unnamed) forest in central Valorence.
Sindasil and Lytherian are in possesion of the elves. They are secretive about their inner workings, although do trade quite often with the men and dwarves, and are loosely aligned with them. They too have paper, and are known to have vast libraries. It is said that they still have the ancient abilities of magik, and they are very in-tune with nature. Somehow, they are able to keep nearly every inch of their lands fertile, although their lands are slowly decreasing over time.
Idla Sutra to the south is a sparsely inhabited subtropical island. Little is known about it in the upper three kingdoms, because of the uneasy "ceasefire" between them and the island during times of peace. Most of the western half of the island is covered with a dark, dense, jungle-like forest. Immediately east of the forest is a massive lake, and beyond that is the Grolov territory. Grolov is notoriously the home of most of the island's drwg. The south of this place is home to a horrible bog that even the drwg avoid.
The Outcast State is a land used to house criminals. Its only inhabitants are banished miscreants, those just below the death sentence, and the guards sent in from Aldruin and Valorence. There is little life here, and the "outcasts" live a very hard life. Their resentment has led to their occassional treaties with the warriors of Idla Sutra.
To the southwest of Idla Sutra are Idlas Frad, the Fire Islands, a string of volcanic islands that grow fruit, tobacco, sugar, and ship in volcanic rock for varying purposes.
To the north is a little-explored polar cap, complete with icebergs and glaciers. Most die exploring it - usually before even making land.

I knew that, who said I didn't? *shifty eyes*
Either way, I love the history worked in, like the place named after The Dragon King's father.
By the way, how do you pronounce his name? I KNOW I'm doing it wrong.

Which one? The Dragon King or his Father?
Padraig - "PAH-draeg" or "PA-draeg"
Palderaig - "PAHL-dur-Aeg'" or "PAL-dur-Aeg'"
Either way is fine, although the first way is the real way.

YES! Now I....sort of...have a better picture in my mind of the movements in that lovely story you told!

Most of it is off of the top of my head. I need a name, and mostly just try to think of what there name is, rather than what I want it to be. So, most of the time, I don't actually have a choice on what the names become. I should probably make a pronunciation guide, huh?

Please, for the sake of my brain, do.
I've never been good with pronunciations.
