Description
This is a picture of the World Trade Centre as they looked in the year 1997. I took this photograph as I was waiting to get on a train excursion from Hoboken, New Jersey to Port Jervis, New York. I was about to ride the New Jersey Transit train that was pulled by the 614 Cheseapeke and Ohio Steam Engine. Please remember those who died on September 11, 2001. I

Yuppers and me Cousin Marie from Queens actually saw the second airplane fly into the second tower. Tis really a shame that we couldn't somehow intercept these guys. We had the intellegence, just didn't react on it.

Yes and we will forever remember this date and not forget those whose lives were suddenly taken away from them. And the United States Government has learned not take terror threats so lightly as they have done before 2001. The United States has closed a lot of security risks at the airports, but how can ya safely secure all modes of transportation without creating a total standstill and gridlock. It will take everyone who rides public transit to be watchful of anyone that looks suspicious and what not.
Let's pray that there will be no more terroristic acts in the United States and the world over.

Nice picture, Ducky
That whole day still seems so surreal, like a bad dream.
It's a shame that you never got to go into the WTC, the view of NYC from up on the Towers was amazing!
You know, I still expect to see them whenever I go into the city. I guess I'm just so used to seeing them.

Thank You So Very Much I can imagine that the view from the towers was amazing
But me Cousin Marie in Queens actually saw the second airplane hit the towers. She still can't believe what she saw was for real.

I feel sad about what happened 8 years ago. I like the picture before it actually happened.

Yeah, I feel quite bad about what happened as well But there is nothing ya can do about people who are determinned to kill themselves in the name of their religion or what they believe in. At least now, they plugged some major holes in Airline Security but who would have ever thought that someone would have used a 747 as a missle?

Hey LordNega....
I love this picture of the WTC. To tell you the truth hon....I really miss the sight of those two buildings side by side.
When I watch a show or movie with them in the background, it's like they are still there, but when you see a shot of NYC on live tv...they are not!
I really wanted to see the twin towers up close for myself for as long as I could remember...but now...........

Thank You Very Kindly for your complement, words, and the favourite addition!! This is the closest I have ever got to the WTC and I have never been to NYC. I really feel sorry for all those people who lost their lives that day and for the families that are left without a mother, father, daughter, or son.
It was a truly senseless act!

That was a sad day... I
this photo.
I will always remember!
I will always have a short silence in September 11 to pray for the brave and the dead.
"They're gone
but not forever
They're still alive
in our hearts
We will help
remembering them
God is with us
will you be with us?"...
(By the way, I've watched a documentary.. I think it's called something like "Last Call From Plane 911". It was so sad and horrible that I almost cried. I'm also going to watch the movie "World Trade Center", I bought it a few weeks ago.)

I want to revamp that picture of Darkwing crying over the 9/11 disaster, and make a color version
of it. Even if the building did look kinda crappy (hey, it just got blown up, after all), I was proud
of the Darkwing part of it.

Thank you. ^___^ I'm listening to a song by Green Day, "Working Class Hero" (originally by John Lennon
), and I'm being inspired to yet some more Darkwing art.
If you haven't heard it, here's a link to the YouTube video (this is the edited version, thank God).

I don't follow the new groups much myself...sometimes while I'm
flipping TV channels I stumble across something that looks or sounds good. I don't even
know who Green Day is; but it was a great song and they were performing for a good cause.

just like if it's yesterday.
6 years has passed, and the images of that tragedy are stamped in my mind like yesterday!!

I have never been to New York City itself, this is the closest I have ever gotten to New York City. It's funny, although I live only 60 miles south of New York City, I have never been there, nor do I have the desire to go there.
Upstate New York, now that's another story.

but yeah, I remember when I saw that tragedy on tv, here was 15.00 in the evening.
Was like a movie, surreal and unreal! Sometimes we are not able to describe the human mind!
Yeah, you're right, now that's anoter story, but I think that's the consequence of the last one story...

I couldn't believe it was actually happening! My Cousin Marie who lives in NY (Queens) said she saw the smoke coming from the WTC from her apartment window! She was really upset when she heard about the second airplane (as we all were) because originally we thought that when the first airplane crashed into the one tower, it was an accident. But there was no mistaking the second airplane that it was a terroist attack.
