We don't actually know how does their world look. Everything about CMB is obscure. We can only suppose.
In any case, there are really many species from differrent planets and dimensions who joined The Combine (some sort of Interdimensional NATO). Each of them with their own biology, culture, lifestyle, etc. Combine is aiming at the unification, but it seems to me that Our Benefactors are really diverse. And there were enemies in Beta (Alien Assassins, Soldiers With Spears) who may be "Native CMBs".
