Yep, although it does depend against proper plate no longbow arrow is going to punch through that simply because the arrow doesn’t have the strength to survive the impact and do any real damage, against the gaps or male and padding it can easily punch through. And more often than not actually what you’d tend to do is aim at the horse that the guys riding on

Variants yes, the most famous of course being the Welsh longbow that was very powerful, these bows depicted are more like hunting bows. But considering they need to punch through a Boar, Deer, Bear or other creatures it’s fair to say it can punch through armour
