Description
I started this map with the aim to represent the Po valley border situation as if it was like the Fergana valley’s in Central Asia. The original idea remained but I also added a little scenario behind it: during the 18th century France (which later renames the Latin Empire) and Russia become hegemonic in Southwestern and Eastern Europe; together with the Ottoman Empire, this leaves Central Europe encircled by three Great Powers. In the middle of the 19th century thought, both Russia and the Latin Empire fall and liberate a series of countries, this map represents the situation in the aftermath of this event.

Ho cominciato questa mappa con l’obbiettivo di rappresentare la situazione confinaria della Val Padana sulla falsa riga della Valle di Fergana, nell’Asia Centrale. L’idea originale è rimasta ma nel frattempo ci ho aggiunto un pò di scenario: durante il 18esimo secolo la Francia (che prenderà il nome di Impero Latino) e la Russia diventano egemoniche in Europa; insieme all’Impero Ottomano, questo lascia l’Europa Centrale stretta tra tre Grandi Potenze. Alla metà del 19esimo secolo però, sia la Russia che l’Impero Latino si sgretolano e liberano una serie di paesi, questa mappa rappresenta il dopo di questo evento.
